If I recall well a firmware upgrade was needed for the watch to be able to show notifications in Greek, so I guess is not so easy. Anyway I prefer Suunto to spend resources in sport/navigation/outdoor features rather than smart watch features.

Dear @egika , absolutely yes! My aim was not to go out of scope from the original question about the Shortcuts customization. That said everyone is absolutely free to say and write whatever they want. Best

This sudden rise in HF but also dropping of HF during steady state training is something I see a few times per month. In training sessions I use the chest strap only. In the past it occured more. When changing to a Polar H10 chest strap the problem was gone for some time but it returned but in a lower frequency. Watch, chest strap and sensor were replaced by Suunto but gave no improvement. I never had these problems in my old Suunto T6c. I am now busy to get my Suunto T6c in working order again as I think it is a more reliable training watch. Partly as those very high or very low HF do not occur and also while the EPOC measurement/calculation is way better. In the Suunto T6c it increases and decreases in 1 unit steps. In the Suunto 9 it sometimes jump 5-10 EPOC units. This makes pacing of the training very difficult.

@дима-мельниченко i see your point and can relate to it. the request to resend the watch came from suunto support. if it doesn’t work now, i guess i will have to deal with it.

@juhis70 wahouuu excellent !!! by the way it seems the population of IT guys having a Suunto is super big … many people who talk here are IT I started also in the 90th on windows 3.0, then 3.1 my nickname at that time was TRAP13 as I was the guy with the biggest number of core dump due memory faults due to C pointers which was causing the display of a trap 13 error … I promise I made a lot of progresses since then. Let’s talk a little bit … I love so much my Suunto 9 Baro !!! Some people may think I’m very criticizing Suunto but in fact I do all of this exactly for the reverse, it’s precisely because I like this watch and it has a huge potential that I love to suggest them some possible improvements. I’m not a runner, neither competitor but I’m a mountainer since now 40 years, leaving in Annecy in the Alps where I’m practicing mountain climbing and skiing (classical but also cross country ? ??) since that time. This is why all my posts are very oriented to mountain activities and thinking around them. What I like in this forum : it is one of the rare where all the people are exchanging ideas with a lot of good thinking and positive attitude and the moderators are replying a lot, challenging your ideas which is a very good sign that they are interested by what you may suggest. What I dream … one day to have a Suunto where the screen is fully occupiing all the size of the watch (there is 30% of space to win => see my post here : https://forum.suunto.com/post/88787) and which is very military oriented. Why military ??? Absolutelly not for the camo colors, I rather prefer the black but because when you think military, then you think super reliable, super efficient and super easy to use in hard conditions, easy read whatever condition you are, totally able to allow you to localise yourself on a map, allowing you to navigate even with no visibility, being able to be alerted on obstacles … etc etc … BE TACTICAL !!! I’m currently learning Angular, when I will be enough trained I will try to create a watchface demonstrator with all my ideas in which you may have the feeling to have a suunto and play with it … It will take some times, may be for no results as I’m not a Suunto leader … but may be it could federate the ideas of myultiple people and help the Suunto people for their future release Why I’m doing this … for free … for the pleasure of challenging myself … for the idea that tomorrow I will have even better

@freeheeler Well actually that is not true…it also activates when you get notification…for example I was on bike, I came home I went into the shower and then I get notification about daily calories, something like “congrats you’ve done your daily target”, so my S9B has been activated and it started scrolling up and down and it also accidentally run stopwatch and it goes just crazy…and of course as I said before you can not even use stopwatch in the water so for example I can not even measure breath hold of my buddy. Therefore I would like to have option to disable the touch screen in shortcut menu like “Media controls”… this is sooo big disappointment for me and I really fighting with it

@isazi that would be very useful! Also there’s the German alpine society (DAV) formula where you count like this: Longitude 1h per each 4km Ascend 1h per each 300m elevation gain Descend 1h per each 500m.elevation loss Add times for elevation gain/loss, compare to the time for longitude: half the smaller of the two and add to the larger of the two. Example: 15km round tour with 1500m elevation gain/loss. 3h45m for 15km 5h ascend 3h descend So 3h45m vs 5+3=8h, therefore we half the 3h45m and add it to 8h: 8h+3h45m/2=9h53m The times are ± realistic, maybe one could set adaptive coefficients for better precision.

@isazi Yes that’s the next step, I will clean the watch and see in the feature how it works. Thanks

@Ars-Vitae yeah, sorry for confusion, lost in translation. I mean, accelerometer can detect new lap only when you are swimming (free style, crawl, medley, whatever…) If your hands are still, like for example during kick drill or some rotation drills, acceleromateer cnnot detect new lap…obviously…hand is still… hope I explained it better now…

@isazi said in Suunto Plus Stryd App: @TyreseJ4 sorry, I meant that you should not connect the old way if you want to use the S+ app. So try to unpair, or just disable the sensor in the pre-activity screen, and try the app again OMG, I know this thread is rather old but I had always thought that the Suuntoplus Stryd app did not work for me because the Stryd sensors never connected. It had not occurred to me that completely unpairing the Sensor would solve the problem. Any downsides to not pairing it as a footpod like in the old days? Does the Suunto watch and app (outside the Suunto+ Stryd app) see the power measured by the Stryd nonetheless? EDIT: It appears the answer is no, all the other Suunto screens display and use wrist-calculated power (see https://forum.suunto.com/post/139268). I need to do some testing if that is still the case.

@Fenr1r said in Suunto 9 Baro Pulse Oximeter?: Should there also be less public confidence in the consistency/accuracy of GPS related measurements? It depends in which way “you” are using that data., but Imho yes. You cannot just rely on GPS for navigation (even if precision is quite good nowadays) if you do, let’s say, some mountaineering or some wilderness trekking. If you do city running … well … hope you can handle signal lost For other metrics, I don’t care. I mean, I can live with it, and it is not creating some kind of hazard … I guess

Not quite sure if this is the perfect place to - once more - wonder about the GPS-performance of the (= my !) Suunto 9. The GPS-performance (for me GPS+Galileo) for me in a regular running area with some challenges like trees and/or buildings is mostly acceptable, in the worst case mediocre due to some really annoying short but heavy ‘fluctuations’. BUT whenever there is a firmware update (as the hotfix) - or a soft-reset - than suddenly the GPS-performance is significantly improved … in the same area as described before … and obviously slightly deteriorating after some days until it is (see above) … no longer really good. @Dimitrios-Kanellopoulos … might this be connected to something like a ‘not perfect’ storage ‘cleaning’ referring to A-GPS, so that only at the first start(s) after a reset the performance is good, or is only at the first runs after a reset that the GPS-1second-rhythm is really kept? Just wondering … and hoping for an improvement… or higher consistency.

I do no manual corrections and FusedAlti works extremely well. Here is a link to last Sunday’s climb/SkiMo in another forum. Some of our climb was quite steep 50°
