@regger @regger said in Ongoing problems with altitude: @Václav-Král said in Ongoing problems with altitude: @regger I tried this. No success. So my Suunto 9 goes back, warranty is still void. Made a exercise with my old Ambit 2 - oh i miss the reliability of the ascent / descent meter calculation - just around 1% deviation. Sorry to hear this, the S9 can be great, here is a comparison with A3P and S9 and S7 for Hill Intervals last Thursday. All three are essentially identical and you can see the FusedAlti engage for S9 and S7. [image: 1585516895523-png-image-7-resized.png] [image: 1585517090657-png-image-8-resized.png]

@sartoric thank you. I just wanted to get this conversation going again. It is a feature I am really missing and it is, in my opinion, an important navigational feature.

@michaeldwilson The best I have found is to have both the tone and vibration on. Typically one of those will get my attention.

@BKtoo You will need a route loaded into the app. You can create a route ahead of time and load it into the watch with no cellular connection but you cannot retrieve the exercise and load it into the watch as with the A3P

@agnes-papp I’m holding thumbs that they can solve it. My wife once had a new out of the box faulty A3R. It was fully charged and after few minutes of use it showed 3% of battery… she could start an activity and it would last for how long the battery normally would last but always showed 3%. When it came back from service it was solved. Never had an issue with Suunto since.

@bktoo said in always altitude information in sports mode: @mff73 Thank you very much, I was not aware that there were several choices during the various activities. It helps a little, but I would have been very happy if I could always answer the question of height when I’m on a trip. be it skiing, running, cycling and everything else I do. It’s a little embarrassing and could not do it when wearing an expensive outdoor watch. You can always have altitude information! There are multiple examples where you now know this and many have answered you. You can also easily create your own sport modes. What is clear is that you do not like the implementation. You are welcome to suggest what you want implemented or vote for a suggestion. Since your question has been answered multiple times I am going to close this thread.

@halajos it is strange that if I manually import your route into: Suunto app: there is no waypoints loaded. Movescount: all waypoints are loaded. If I look at Start on and FINISH waypoints they are imported into Movescount as Waypoint type (I’ve tried changing them to Begin and End type, but Movescount export didn’t include <type> info into GPX file). When in Suunto app I added Start on as Begin and FINISH as End type waypoints and exported the GPX file, then it contained correct <type> info for both points. <wpt lat="46.73737" lon="17.667992"><name>Start on</name><type>Begin</type></wpt> <wpt lat="46.737305" lon="17.668049"><name>FINISH</name><type>End</type></wpt> This is what I was referring to with my previous post. If I didn’t had these type of waypoints added to my route then my notification would not work properly for both start/finish points. However note that I’m using an Ambit3, not sure how Suunto 9 handles this.

Thanks for all the information. It seems a Strava problem, maybe because it was aimed towards running/cycling? @Brad_Olwin I was trying the other modes as to understand how would the S9B perform if I was to spend like two or three consecutive days in the mountains hiking without charging. For one day activity, performance mode is brilliant.

@saka79 said in Feature Request: Display time in navigation swipe up screen: @brad_olwin Hi Brad, no I’m using the navigation mode as is. I use this mode while hiking (and not registering tracks, as I need all the battery life I can get during long multi day hikes). Previously I used the ambit 3 for long hiking trips and this watch had the option to push the middle button to switch between the watch display and navigation display. This way you could quickly check the time and move on. You will get longer battery life if you use an extended battery mode. Navigation/GPS is the primary battery hog, there should be no difference using Navigation with or without a sport mode. Your max battery without HR should be ~30h in Performance mode, in Endurance mode ~50h if you are not on the Navigation screen where you will default to Performance mode. What you are doing is unlikely to improve battery life.

@mister-pyc said in Define 2 cardiac thresholds which make the watch vibrating: @bulkan Thanks I saw the screen but I was no so expertised than you. I have still a LOT to learn about this watch. Check out the manual. Is on line in the Suunto web. Is very well documented and you will find out a lot of things of the watch.

@joe-johansen that is the options that the app has. Like the app even if you read the notification from the phone doesn’t give the option. Here is an example from an app that allows replies [image: 1633069994006-screenshot_20211001-093233.jpg]
