@joelai Honestly I think Vertical is first Suunto watch that “can compare with competition”. I own since 2023 and its really good, and keeps better with every update.

@pilleus the 9 Peak (same size) has a great basic watch face — could someone move it to the Peak Pro?

@saka79 said in Feature Request: Display time in navigation swipe up screen: @brad_olwin Hi Brad, no I’m using the navigation mode as is. I use this mode while hiking (and not registering tracks, as I need all the battery life I can get during long multi day hikes). Previously I used the ambit 3 for long hiking trips and this watch had the option to push the middle button to switch between the watch display and navigation display. This way you could quickly check the time and move on. You will get longer battery life if you use an extended battery mode. Navigation/GPS is the primary battery hog, there should be no difference using Navigation with or without a sport mode. Your max battery without HR should be ~30h in Performance mode, in Endurance mode ~50h if you are not on the Navigation screen where you will default to Performance mode. What you are doing is unlikely to improve battery life.

@Brad_Olwin said in What I love from S9B and not so much after an A3P: somewhat solved I prefer control of my own route direction, so automatic detection and its interesting foibles amid forested switchbacks (experienced) isn’t an improvement for me, though I can absolutely see others preferring it. My point is that you can pick the waypoint to which you want to return from a watch menu on the A3P and see the distance and bearing. Skirting something (usually) or other improvisation (often) describes an arc for which radial navigation is well-suited. The rest of the user’s attention can be devoted to not sinking into a bog or sliding down a landslip or whatever. It might not be the very best for speed but that’s at the user end of responsibility. S9 gives me the route shape and the scale and, as you pointed out, no distance to any WP. With the (alternative) Bearing Nav, that’s more than a couple of button presses to invoke the GoTo and, unless within eyeshot, it’s map time. The (my) problem isn’t the automatic rejoining or reversing of a route … it’s relocating the thing at an optimal, or at least predictable, point. For ease of use in that regard, A3P offers only a couple of button presses. Fine (and not actually an answer to my use case) to have bailout routes but, of course, that’s a phone app, not watch capability (unless the S9 can pull that route from the phone via its own menu system). For which you need phone time. As ever, I’m not saying one system should exist in isolation. Neither is a substitute for the other.

@TELE-HO said in Golf mode for Suunto 9: @MartinLX no I don’t play golf and while I normally say “never say never” you can believe me, I will never ever play golf and I’ve got reasons that I don’t want to put in here BUT(!), as you use your watch for golfing, it’s not what a golf watch would actually do. I know from a friend of mine who does play golf, and who I really do not envy for this, that there’s a garmin watch available only made for golf… obviously it does not only count strokes and times for each strokes, but also analyzes your motion and efficiency and if you’re holding and swinging that club how it’s supposed to… but well… while I think everyone should do what he likes, I really respect what everyone does, but golf is nothing for me, really I know that watch, and I think this is total overkill - hence why I am looking for a pragmatic golf mode. Maybe that could convince you one day to play? No, jokes apart, everyone has its reasons to like or dislike, and welcome to diversity!

@horvathbotond TBH the Spartan could do with a Barometer widget on a watch face or at least a Baro trend arrows for the past 12 hours that way you can have a quick glance and know what the pressure doing

Yes, same for me. I open the menu, select Unread to review all new messages and skip those that start with Android. Not a big deal, but a bit more comfortable if they were separated in a more permanent way. [image: 1516648774334-f0ea153f-4f4f-4c6a-8b57-52167a1da437.jpeg]

I cant remember where I used to do this but I know that manually grouping works as an alternative.
