I owned a Vector too and used to look often at the ascent speed while hiking, since that gives you an idea on how fast you are going and allow to estimate the remaining altitude difference to your destination. Since the Vertical/Race watch family can show altitude and barometric pressure, they could easily display also the vertical speed as a complication, it’s odd that isn’t present as a choice.
I agree with you about the ridiculous small font of the time field shown on the top of the activity fields, it’s actually useless, especially while in outdoor activities.

It just did, on it’s own.
Now I have a different issue.
HRM pro plus and running dynamics not working together at the same time on a treadmill or anymore.
Both Garmin.
Tried everything.
Even pulling out batteries from both, forgot both, reconnected both and then I reconnected just the HRM. Works!
Disconnecting HRM and connecting just the pod doesn’t work, adding GPS(talking treadmill) doesn’t help.
I did the run outside two days ago. All behaving perfectly, just like Garmin
Did the treadmill this morning and kept disconnecting, like half the data dropped out, including steps, making the stride length 200cm when I corrected the length of the run.
Looks like Google was right when it said that the Garmin running dynamics doesn’t work on other watches (it did perfectly so just once.)
Problem is(or not) that on my narrow treadmill I have to keep a hand on the bars otherwise I could fall(and the treadmill was actually because of an ankle injury)
I changed the steps on the suunto app and that doesn’t show either on the main page nor the watch itself.

@GiPFELKiND I am on iOS and it works fine, The watch must not be syncing and have a green check to create custom sport mode. When you open the app it may immediately start syncing so be patient.

Sorry for the wrong info. It did go back first time that I set it to 20m for some reason. It did not happen from there onwards. It correctly keeps the last session’s pool length that it was set.

I agree. While on a night ride I discovered the backlight options were either on or off!! Suunto, please introduce a graduated backlight with maybe 3 or 4 brightness settings. This means the watch face could be seen at night, but not put too much strain on the battery.

@greku I agree that could be an useful feature, but at least on my garmin you edit the name after.
But if the suunto vertical is like old devices which only allows one sensor of the same type then there is little point on editing the name after (I guess).

only issue with 3rd party straps: the pins that hold them in place in the lugs of the watch are of smaller diameter than the original Suunto ones.
Have not had any failure yet though…

@Ultrarunner you can upload routes in GPX, or create them in the app, or send them from Strava, Komoot, etc. You can follow TP workouts, the watch beeps and vibrates at the beginning of a step. Stryd works, also the native wrist power, and you can use power workouts (natively, this is one thing that Suunto supported much earlier than Garmin).

@GiPFELKiND and recovering is when my heart rate is over 90 bpm!? Suunto what is the Problem… I dont understand this measurement… Please explain how this should work… My rest hr is setting on 58… How could it be that i am recovering on this 90 HF

imagine your watch always needs to see the sky. trees are already a challenge but good devices can handle it. what you do is basically flying blind and you expect your watch to know exactly where it is after it lost satellite connection for several minutes.

Just to say that watch has two settings : one range for sleeping times AND one range for automatic DND.
They may not be the same depending on your situations.
