@brabirl Suunto Vertical has a super low power MIP display that is always on. You can setup the cases, under which the background illumination comes on. The display itself only goes fully off when the watch is not worn or switched off.

@Kai-Liu I have not seen this issue. Check HR belt battery and BT connection. Then if those are good try a watch restart

@SnowSailor you can easily switch watches on the phone and not pair to the iPad. I have 6 watches paired to my phone.

@MKPotts no I think you understand. Yes just a reminder to switch leaders. I’ll try the auto laps. With the new map screen you can see the distance to the next waypoint now, so that would be usable anyway it just easy to forget…

@Marek-Machala it is not easy to understand your post (english is not my native language either). What I understand from your post is that you’d like to have more smartwatch features. The thing is that Suunto watches are more sport watches than smartwatches. And I like that. When you are seriously with your sports, you want accuracy, precision, battery…all those things the Vertical has. The same happens in watches from other brands. Coros watches are more sport watches, like Suunto. Garmin has watches that are more an smartwatch (like the Venu) or an sport watch (like the Fenix). For me, the Vertical is the best watch of the market at this moment. But that is because of my use cases (ultra trails and long distance runs and long distance triathlons). And I have had many many watches and very expensive ones. This time, Suunto has done an incredible job and is again there, where It was a while ago.

Thanks @Manuele. Hopefully multisport will improve. Otherwise finding it useful - only had it a week or so. Did some more experiments with multi sport today and found if I wheel the bike one handed so the watch arm can swing, it does record steps whereas if both hands on handlebar not many steps are recorded.

@surfboomerang said in [Bug] Battery estimates Custom profile: It seems that there are some bugs with the battery estimation. Especially for the Custom profile. The battery estimate is reduced by 1hr when I enable “Display TImeout”. I would suspect it would increase I noticed a huge impact on the estimation by changing the “Touch” setting. At 92% battery the estimate was 70hrs with the following settings: GPS: Good, Touch: Enabled, Display Timeout: off When changing the Touch setting to “Map Only”, the estimate increased to 83hrs GPS: Good, Touch: Map Only, Display Timeout: off Changing the Touch setting to Disabled also showed an estimate of 83hrs. GPS: Good, Touch: Disabled, Display Timeout: off I can’t imagine that Touch can affect battery lifetime with more that 15%. It doesn’t seem that the Wrist HR setting has any effect on the battery lifetime. Is it really that negligible? Oh, and a long shot… it would be nice if the impact of the Suunto+ apps is reflected in the battery estimations The display on the Vertical does not use much power, neither does OHR. GPS frequency is the biggest hit on battery.S+ apps vary widely in consumption so this would be very difficult to implement.

@isazi I encountered a problem where an illogical distance appears on the watch and in the iPhone application When the training is transferred to another phone as a file (iphine or Android) A different and more reasonable distance appears

@murphyp228 some notes on Stryd/Suunto, with a link to a forum post where we got into it: https://zulusierra.co/p/using-suunto-and-stryd-in-2024 TL;DR is that the workout data from Suunto contains elevation, but that elevation is overwritten by data from the pods. I had the same issue, and Stryd and I resolved it by swapping the primary pod over. You do this by identifying the current pod 1, unpairing both pods, and then taking what was pod 2 and your phone somewhere out of bluetooth range of pod 1. Pair, then it’ll be come pod 1, and pair the other pod which will become pod 2. Ta da you should see elevation data…
