the same happened to me today. 3 registered dives on the Ocean but no synchronising to the app. Restarting the Ocean and the app did not solve the problem so I un- and reinstalled the app. That didn’t solve the problem either. Even worse- activities older than two weeks have disappeared completely from my account! ( Support has not been able to help me so far. 😞 )

@garethm there are a couple of other field testers who monitor this forum and transport issues and ideas to Suunto.

Other than this the Suunto App recently gained a feedback function for everyone to use.

I think this is known afaik. Update is prepared for our Ocean

@kohjl I have the Ocean and can confirm there is no lag, very smooth and responsive.

In fact you want a new fearure, “statistics on the logbook”. It would be nice. Suunto could provide us with this feature in the next update.

@Patrick-Hutchinson No, sorry. I don’t have any Apple devices for this exact reason. Apple is a minefield of restrictions when it comes to development and customisation without jailbreaking your device… Which itself requires some expertise if you don’t want to void cybersecurity or risk bricking your device. I don’t know how you can get any of this data at the current stage. My hope is that Suunto employees may see this forum thread and follow up on it.

IF it ever becomes a viable option on Apple, lmk. I’m working on something. I made some Reddit posts on it:

Detailed breakdown of data you CAN access through the FIT file export Mock up a program to visualise dive data from the Suunto Ocean with some screenshots.

It would be helpful if an Apple user, again, if it ever becomes available, could provide me data of a dive or a few extracted from an Apple device so I can make my software compatible for that as well.

My goal was: You can save the raw data without any third-party app or without having to rely on the Suunto app (especially being able to transfer it to your PC) and then later use any program (e.g., mine) to read & visualise it, independent from any app storage. -> Aka perfectly compatible.

Sorry I couldn’t answer your question but hopefully, this gave you some hope on future projects. Maybe I’ll find an Apple user who knows how to extract their data on such an Apple device. If I do, I’ll let you know!

thanks for your answers…! Good to hear that it must be possible! I’ll dig around a little bit and try connecting the phone to the car without a connection to the Ocean… I think, I should manage to set things up. 🙂

So if i understand correctly it does automatically do the alarm if the ascent is “critical”
I’ve try it again today, i got the red arrow but no vibration or sound (very shallow area after safety stop)
The one i’ve tried (it wasn’t suunto, just that i liked the settings) was vibrating just if you were ascending too fast (like orange/beginning of red for the SO i would say)

@Bernhard-Höller I wonder if the deco label comes from the safety stop when ascending? Just like any cycling activity from point A to point B is automatically labeled as “functional exercise” or whatever might be the correct term for cycling to grocery store instead of driving a car. The same label doesn’t appear when I start and stop at the same spot.

Or it might as well be a real bug…

I used to dive with the good ol’ Suunto Vyper back in the yesteryears… Then I was diagnosed with epilepsy and all I can do is a little light snorkeling these days.

@benedikt76 I couldn’t agree more with you. If all (or better most of all) agreed on 3 minutes at 5 mtrs, why isn’t it possible to adjust this in my Eon!? This has got nothing to do with Haldane’s tables. When I first started diving (1976) the ascent and descent speed was 18 mtrs/min. Nowadays it’s 9/10 mtrs. So if thais van change overtime in a divingcomputer, why can I not change my safety stop parameters into 3 minutes at 5 mtrs? It makes perfectly good sence.

Check Bluetooth and wi-fi connections with phone and watch, then check your phone permissions. If necessary disable data and power savings.
