@wmichi I suffered that issue (stucked while saving) two times (in three days) past summer with S9P.
After a factory reset it didn’t happen again.

Reading this post I find coincidences with issues in S9P so softwares seem not so different after all.

@zhang965 I did shut down sound from general setting leaving vibration only to only hear again long beep 😕 Strange enough when changing battery settings to tour, jingle is back but now it took 12 sec to get on exercise screen. I also changed language to english because with S9Baro finnish was causing crash on altitude menu.

I do soft reset and try again. Never had to do it before after last FW update.

@wmichi Funny how problems differ from watch to watch. Mine never crashed during saving.

@Jugger No, funny is that long term issues/behaviors seem very similar for different hardware devices.
So, or new hardware is not so powerful or is not optimized by software (that derives from old softwares as well).
That’s my actual reason for not buying a S9PP and keep training with S9P and B, I don’t find sustancial improvements and seems that S9PP behavior after months of use is very similar to S9P.

Since Spartan, all Suunto watches are getting the same behavior after months, my s9p’s gps was very good at the beginning, then I got the speed drop months after.

… not (at all) true for every Suunto watch. Did not have it with the Spartan, and still have not had it with my Suunto 9 Non-Baro. My wife and two friends with non-baros did not have any issue like that at all. Speaking for me and my wife only: I usually do not even have any soft-resets between the firmware-Updates.

I got a Spartan ultra and a S9B, then s9p (I had the lag issues), s9pp(so far so good), could it be an issue on the barometer?

How do I lock the buttons and the touch during activity and out of activity?

long press lower button in activity. in watch and pause mode, not possible.
touch is inactive by default during an activity, but you can activate it in custom battery mode

@freeheeler Thanks, man. Is there a place from which I can download more watch faces? I find the the preinstalled watch faces not good and hardly customizable.
Which exercises are the best to be used for push-ups and sit-ups?
When I pause an activity, does the gps turns off or is there a “resume later” mode, so that the gps is turned off and the watch goes back to a watch face? During an activity, is there a way to leave the activity running normally in the background and bring the watch to a normal watch face?
It seems the watch overcounts a little bit my steps, compared to my F7XSS. The sleep tracking of the later has always worked great for me. Now it says my sleep was crappy and do feel like crap. My Suunto says I slept great, my resources are at 95% and I’m ready for the day 🤦🏻‍♂️
Yesterday I made a couple of unboxing pics but no idea how you post pics on here.
So far, I like the watch. I like to keep my watches before my wrist bone, my wrist circumference is small, so the watch lies quite comfortably on my wrist.

there’s no way to add more watch faces. only the small fields can be changed to what’s pre-defined.
I don’t do workouts in a way that I let the watch count the repetition, hence I can not advice here, sorry.
the watch keeps satellites connected when pausing afaik in order to quickly start again after a pause.
                            resume later isn’t available.

regarding sleep tracking, the accuracy depends on your rest HR settings. if they are too high or low, the watch gives wrong estimation.

settings, general, personal and then rest HR.
I use avg sleep HR plus 10 as a rule of thumb to get rest HR

@skifun Do you really need the five buttons?
I can understand that without touchscreen (F6 and Forerunners) but with touchscreen…

How is the comparison with F7X?

Coming from S5: Three buttons are fine. There’s whole left side of the watch to support the thumb when operating buttons on the right. Good design.

What I miss however is the ability to cycle screens to the left. Being able to cycle only to right is super annoying, especially when I want to go 1 right to check the navigation and then 1 left to get back to data screen.

@jjpaz Yes, I do. The touch for me is only good when I use the maps on my F7X. That’s my second day with the Suunto, so it’s way too early for comparisons. For me the F7X is the better device.
