Suunto Vertical is here

You can do this but you need to set the alarm again.
-
I’m convinced. Ordered the Titanium black!

@NickK as an owner of a pair of activelook glasses, I totally agree. It also appears the activelook app was updated this month, and I’m very curious if the vertical’s firmware will be able to make more use of it.
I’m also curious if other suunto watches will get a firmware update that improves activelook functionality as well.
Tbh, the activelook experience will drive my decision to upgrade.

True 24/7 HR measurements… finally the problems with resources might be resolved (where a short yoga session makes the resources drop to 0%)? Can’t wait to find out. Ordered one

@zhang965 snooooza

@fitb2020 I noticed during running the glasses now display heart rate, pace, and power instead of distance/time if Stryd is connected, which is huge. It would be nice to be able to configure what you get to see, but I’d take an S+ app and a guide combo over any such customization personally.
At least, with two S+ apps in Vertical you can use ActiveLook and intervals apps to do structured workouts the old fashioned way, manually. Because at Suunto, we believe in memory and manual dexterity training too!

Thinking if this could replace a cycling computer for bikepacking: can you plan & load a new route in the middle of a workout?
-
Looks very interesting. And very tempting.
Does the Vertical keep the POI Bearing Navigation function from the 9s?
And/or …
Can the onboard & offline map be used for this (rather than the App)?

Yes, you can sync and activate new routes from the app any time. Also in the middle of a workout.
-
@Egika Was this already the case before ?
-
@Egika Can you sync new POIs to the watch from the phone during a workout? Previously this was not possible, if I recall. Only routes.
-
-
@LitchiMonster yes, you can do this with Suunto Vertical.
-
@wmichi yeah, that’s what shoud solve it. AFAIK the S7 had this too and I had a much better Resources feedback with it
-
Running power measurements are like S9PP?
-
Did any of the testers tried it with dual sided powermeter (cycling)?
-
@Mitch9 Yes same wrist power than S9PP according to DC Rainmaker
-
-
@NickK indeed! Also, the more I use activelook the more I also want all workout related notifications to pop up in the HUD, like navigation does. Activelook would be the perfect companion for structured workouts.
Though I would also like a little bit of customization of data fields because right now indoor cycling mode is forced to show distance and speed as null because my stationary bike only has a cadence sensor. I would love to be able to replace a null field with sensor data.

Great, already an advantage compared to garmin (I know there are others!but this one is awesome!)
Can the app create circular routes on a radius, by X kms?
