@Brad_Olwin how different are the tastes ๐Ÿ˜ the 9PP is much too small for me and the design is nice and elegant but I personally prefer an outdoor design. If I want an elegant watch then I take one of my old mechanical watches ๐Ÿ˜

I am not a large person, 69kg and 173cm. My wrists are not large. For sleeping, day use and long runs >12h I always found the Ambit and S9baro to be heavy and large. I do not care about elegance. The 9PP is the perfect size for me and has enough battery to get through all but the longest races in 1s mode. ( I am contemplating a 320k race next year so even the Vertical may not be sufficient in Performance mode). The 9PP is simply comfortable and light, design for me does not matter.

@Brad_Olwin sure Iโ€™m taller 187 in 78kg and the weight didnโ€™t really bother me with the Vertix 2 either.

Just cross posting this as might be of interest here as well, and wanted to give a shout out to this channel. I enjoyed it more than DCR or Desfit to be quite honest.

In another thread, which hotly discussed the issues of S9B width, I posted a picture of S9B Ti inside caliper. I think this thread is ready for some pictures of scales and door frame notches ๐Ÿ˜

Question about maps : I imagine they will be generated from OSM data, even if not vector or routable. But, how often will they be updated and benefit from any OSM new data, paths, etcโ€ฆ?
                      Any info on this?

I know we are all excited with the prospect of Suunto and the future products from a company we love but I do not think itโ€™s fair to ask the guys affiliated with Suunto about future plans. I am sure they are โ€˜dyingโ€™ to tell people about everything but that will not bring any good right? Imagine they said yes there is amoled vertical coming in near futureโ€ฆ this is example of shooting yourself in the leg. The sales would sink, everybody would postpone buying (well maybe not everyone since I donโ€™t like oled at all! @Mff73 yes you can correct. We update often. When watch is charging. Not thought till the second update of the watch (real update not some hot fix that might come out ).

Hey guys so when we are doing an overnight hike on Garmin they have the pause and resume after thing to keep it all one track which is great. So with the vertical I understand it doesnโ€™t have this, so if we just press pause on the activity and leave it overnight does that mean the gps is still running all night draining the battery? In the morning we then just click continue activity to keep it one move ?

@gone-troppo I havenโ€™t received my Vertical yet but assuming its the same as before there is one advantage to stopping the exercise and its that it allows the watch to track resting heart, body resources and sleep. I always find that interesting especially if there is significant elevation gain.

If Iโ€™m not mistaken on Garmin the pause and resume function allows sleep and other daily tracking to continue. Then once resumed its treated one long exercise.

@mikekoski490 Actually it seems, that if you ordered from Suunto it will take longer, than from Amazon (at least here in Germany, where I could get it on Wednesday from Amazon). I would have thought, that Suunto ships the preordered one a bit earlier (like on Friday or Saturday or so), so that they arrive around Tuesday/Wednesday ๐Ÿ˜. But not really a problem, waiting a few days ๐Ÿ˜ƒ
