@Michaël-POINTEAU I think it’s a software problem with the latest update, not a battery problem… there are many of us in your situation

      Suunto Vertical Black Lime (2023)
      Suunto 7 Graphite Copper (2021)

Suunto just requested that my watch is been sent for repair, apparently battery replacement 😢

I hope it helps, even though I don’t really understand how this is supposed to solve the problem. My watch is just sitting on the table and it’s dischargin quite fast. Before the update I had no issues. I put a few numbers down:

@timecode, if you enable power saving this issue continues?

It is not a solution, but just another variable to help suunto to identify the problem.

@diogao13 And to add another variable…

After the last update my watch went on for a solid 5 weeks including activity recording (both with and without GPS) and without sleep and 24/7HR

This weekend I charged the watch to 100%. The same morning I went for a 1hr run and the watch was still at 100%. It was very sunny that day.
The day after I went for a 1,5hr hike with maps and route enabled. After that, the battery dropped to 92%
Today, I was at work and the watch dropped 6% in approximately 6 hours while in watch mode.

So at this new rate, I’ll never reach the 5 weeks that I did before the last charge.

For testing purposes, I won’t reboot the watch and keep an eye on the battery level the upcoming days.

My S9P went today from 100 to 0. No activity and no hr tracking. Seems general problem with all watches. Maybe communication to SA. Maybe it is already solved. Did a soft reset.

… Was probably. Backlight set active.

just got a drain issue, out of the blue…i lost > 12% in less then 12 hours, in watch mode and qnd night… after a medium run yesterday (1.30 hours), it drains even after activity, and during the night.

lost 2% during my run (normal)
lost 10% during the evening/night and morning… in watch mode and do not disturb.

I am confused how i have triggered the drainage, but still it happened. soft reset, and it stopped (hopefully)

                I was 25% yesterday 4pm. I am 13% this morning.
i get to 25% in 10 days, I was pretty happy about results, until yesterday.
I really hope suunto got this bug drainage for next release. it is very annoying, and make the watch unreliable for a lot of us!

any news with the new firmware with extra logs?
                when is the next release?

@Antoine-Lancrenon I am 4% today… just did 1h bike in total. lost almost 9© in 24hrs. seems that the drainage continues even after soft reset.

make me think now, that iy may come the bluetooth and the activity on the phone that could inpact the watch!?

                  Really weird.

Unfortunately I wasn’t able to train after this weekend so the watch has been in watch mode since my last post 3 days ago. Battery went down from 85% to 58%.

@Antoine-Lancrenon Experienced similar thing. I charged my SV after a week (so once a week as usual after last firmware update). 2 days normal, next 2 days of abnormal battery draining then 4 impressive days I really thought that watch returned to its glory. But no, 2 recent days again, battery was draining like crazy without activity. Have you already contacted support from your side?

@Ars-Vitae https://forum.suunto.com/post/150513 dev is working on this issue already for some time

(not sure why everybody keeps updating this thread with the same issue, over and over again… okay, the search in this forum sucks and the official confirmation of bugs too)

@twekkel I think it is good to get “a head count” of us that are affected by the rapid battery drain and under what circumstances. Also, by posting it tends to move it to the top of the forum which helps with visibility.

I was one of the ones that saw this early on in my own Vertical but also know the history of Suunto Dev Team getting things right so I am not panicked. It will get sorted out, but I still feel it is good to know who is being affected by this and under which circumstances.

I have also issues with battery after latest firmware. I did drain battery empty on last sunday evening and shut down and started my watch. On monday after 24 hours I already lost 12% of battery. There was only 20 mins biking during that day. Daily HR and sleep detection is on 24/7.
I have weather, airpressure and compass watchface on.

I’m just waiting for new firmware. Not too big problem for me knowing that it will eventually be fixed.

One more for the “head count”, I also have this problem. Sometimes battery drain seems normal and on other days it’s pretty bad. So far I have not seen any pattern. Maybe the new complications have something to do with it. Soft reset only solves the battery drain for a short period of time. Sooner or later it will be fixed with a firmware update.

@thanasis I guess a lot of SV users experience this. Just for comparison I was using only the Ocean and left both the Race and the Vertical face down without using them. Both charged on Sunday same time. Today (Friday) - Race battery: 87% and Vertical: 23% without any use.

The problem is that i tried quite every single suggestion (including those of @Dimitrios-Kanellopoulos on letting it depleet and recharge 100%, soft reset etc…) but the issue persists and i am a bit disappointed

                                    btw @EzioAuditore

If nothing worked, you need to wait for the firmware update.

My problems started after the last update but also after syncing Suunto Race S with SuuntoApp and exchanging watches during the day…
Since 10 days ago I’m only using Verticall all day, 24h, and haven’t paired Race S in the App, and battery consumption still seems normal (48% battery consumption in 9-10days).
Could be the problem related to the pairing/unpairing process in the App? Perhaps th watch tries to connect to app and the App is synced to the other watch?

@thanasis I tried calibrating the battery on both SV and Race. On the Race its seems like it worked and on the Vertical not. So waiting for the FW to solve it.
I do own a lot of watches from most brands. Some of them like Suunto’s (8 watches - I still own 4) are my personal purchases. Another is the FR965 from Garmin (I had some crashes with the Vertical in the beginning so I needed watch). Some are work related: AW (I choose the Ultra just for the sake of the sapphire and LTE - I do like the liberty of running and paying without mobile 🙂 - this is not my prefered sport watch and I use it mostly as smart watch).
I’ve owned Polar Vantage V and Fenix 6xss and some Galaxy 3 (I don’t remember). I’ve never had Coros though 🙂

@jjpaz I have the Ocean and Race on the same mobile and the Vertical on another (the only watch in that app) so I do not think it is pair/unpair related.
