@Stefan-Kersting I have been wondering the same after my first run. Z2/Z3 limit proposed by zonesens is far lower in my case than the level i have in HR zones.
My thoughts so far : I won’t change my HR zone and see in next weeks months how zonesens will evolve. If have understood well it should need time for the algo to calibrate. And whatever it says, it is supposed to take more consideration of health condition. So when hill it should always propose different HR values than those set in SA.
So my final point is : my HR zone are probably “well set” when I’m fit and healthy. Zonesens should bring in time more indications about my real capacities of the day.

My 33% “good experience” with ZONESENSE.

        (Suunto 9PP + PolarH10 heart belt / IOS App v2.38)

The last few days I have tried Zonesense three times with the following performance results:

        1. Mountain bike. No route tracking. WATCH FAIL (*) / APP OK
        2. Mountain bike. With route tracking. WATCH OK / APP OK
        3. Trail running. With route tracking. WATCH OK / APP FAIL (**)

(*) On the watch, the zone sense screen only indicated zone 1, regardless of heart rate or effort level, without the zone gauge moving. Later, however, in the app, the different zones were identified with colors and the thresholds were marked, etc.

(**) On the watch, everything worked perfectly, as expected from the Suunto+, indicating the times in each zone, the gauge indicating the appropriate section, etc. But then nothing appeared in the app, as if nothing had been registered.

Anyway, a promising feature that hasn’t worked consistently for me yet. I’ll keep trying over the next few days.

I’ve seen it too - however, zones switched as expected, only the gauge didn’t move. I think it was after unpausing the watch?

Mmm, well, thinking about it, maybe the pauses have something to do with it.

In fact, the only activity that worked well (watch and app) was the one without a pause.

In the first one, the autopause was activated shortly after starting (I have autopause in this sport mode). And in the second one, I activated and deactivated the pause during a stop (in trail running I don’t have autopause activated).

I’ll keep an eye on this aspect, thanks.

@Łukasz-Szmigiel I also had issues with ZoneSense, and I also did pause. I explained here: https://forum.suunto.com/topic/11713/race-misbehaving-in-multiple-ways

I am seeing an issue in the APP where periodically the watch will record and display the ZoneSense screen perfectly but when I sync to the app the ZoneSense dropdown is not available. If I kill the app it then loads correctly allowing me to see the ZoneSense data and flip between other metrics. Latest iOS beta SA, Suunto Vertical Ti. Morpheus HR Strap.

So it is only with HR belt, it does not work with optical sensor on the watch ?

It should work with the Scosche Rhythm24 OHR, as long as you set it to measure HRV.

I rather suspect you might be able to make it display something because the minimum condition “HRV input feed present” is satisfied but the data quality is bound to be orders of magnitude lower for optical beat-to-beat analysis compared to a chest strap based on electric impulse detection to make the analysis meaningless (Garbage in, garbage out).

That is not to say that the Scosche is a bad heart rate meter (I am using a Polar Verity Sense myself), I just would not trust HRV data coming from anything but a chest strap.

would like to share my first observations her. Did some spinning workouts with 3x5 min intervals. when warming up I was in the aerobic zone. after starting a harder effort within the 5 min interval it took about 2 min to get into the anaerobic zone. After further 2 min i got into the Vo2 max zone. So one minute was left and even when still going string with a HR of 158 i dropped back into the aerobic zone. Have to give it som more tries and observe a little bit more.

I keep getting interesting insights with ZoneSense.

Today I woke up with my lowest sleep and resting HR and highest HRV ever. Also when I started running my HR was relatively low compared to the effort I perceived.
The ZoneSense gauge would slip into the anaerobic zone at a lower HR than expected, around 142 bpm, which can be explained with fatigue from a long run 2 days ago. What surprised me is that every time this happened it was when I felt that little extra push when breathing is no longer effortless. But also, ZoneSense stayed in the green (aerobic) at ±148 bpm while pushing down a hill with little effort and easy breathing.
To me this means that today my AeT was lower due to accumulated fatigue, and that a higher HR doesn’t necessarily mean I am crossing the threshold (i.e. I am not really spending much effort).

Obviously my wife says it’s all in my head 🙂

@Francesco-Pagano see my post above, confusingly linked below: @the_ultraman found a note in the Facebook community saying there’s a bug in the watch analytics, fix soon…

Or your wife is correct and it’s in your head, but that’s a dangerous thread to follow that ends with the downfall of the whole sports analytics industry!

                                  Updated.

My 33% 25% “good experience” with ZONESENSE.

                                  (Suunto 9PP + PolarH10 heart belt / IOS App v2.38)

The last few days I have tried Zonesense three four times with the following performance results:

                                  1. Mountain bike. No route tracking. Autopause triggered. Guide Structured work. WATCH FAIL (*) / APP OK
                                  2. Mountain bike. With route tracking. No pause. No other guides. WATCH OK / APP OK
                                  3. Trail running. With route tracking. Pause. No other guides. WATCH OK / APP FAIL (**)
                                  4. Running. With route tracking. With route tracking. No pause. Guide Structured work. WATCH OK / APP FAIL (***)

(***) This time it worked well on the watch, pointing out the areas that seemed to be appropriate for the perceived effort and heart rate. However, the transfer to the app does not match what is seen on the watch. The data is only partial and it appears as if there is a shift to the right.

Anyway, dispite is a promising feature that hasn’t worked consistently for me yet. In fact I belive there is definitely some error behind it. Otherwise I’ll keep trying over the next few days.

@enriqueescoms in the App the ZoneSense graph is always shifted to the right since the first 10 minutes are only used for calibration. I hope this is what you’re referring to.

                                      @Francesco-Pagano I´m afraid not.

                                      09496c10-874e-433b-bd5c-858740dbebcc-Sin título.jpg

On the watch, the Zonesense started working, as expected, after the first 10 minutes of warm-up/calibration. But look at the graph, it starts after the 20 minute mark. Also, it only shows the aerobic zone (100% -18min). Which is not true because it does not reflect the anaerobic zone and VO2max zone, which were also present. And beyond that, it is not possible that the total was 18min when the activity lasted 49min.

Something is wrong somewhere. And I can’t find a pattern. Because out of 4 attempts it has failed in 3 and each one in a different way.

                                      Thanks, however, for your contribution.

The data in the mobile app should be computed by the mobile app itself, not the S+ app, as far as I know. You have the graph and all the other info even if you do not use the S+ app. So, better not to mix the two sides, and discuss the S+ app here.

@isazi Shouldn’t the mobile app and S+ be the same? By the way, in my case the calculation in the app starts after 10 minutes of warm-up, and in the last long run after 2 hours the graph ends (total duration 3 hours). Could this be due to poor quality data from the heart rate belt? There is no such problem in short workouts up to 1 hour. I use H10.
