We need Updates!

@Ollipolli I disagree about the app. I actually prefer Suunto app to Garmin Connect. There are some silly parts of the app - mostly the older parts inherited from Sports Tracker but it has matured quite a bit in the last couple of years.
However I fully agree with you with regards to Strava Live Segments, which is the worst implementation of segments among all brands. The only single advantage it has is that live segment tracking still works at the same time with navigation, but that isn’t true for Garmin or Coros implementations.

@OutdoorMan I have reproduced it from the first try. I created a new sport mode based on Trail Running and added a graph with HR at the bottom and pace at the top. Then I started an activity and here what I saw:

Furthermore, I have these issue on two Suunto watches that I own - both Race and Race S.
Now, the question is how I remove this custom sport mode that I don’t actually need? There isn’t a way that I can see.
-
@sky-runner just tap on Edit in the sport mode customisation screen and delete it.

Btw. this is how it looks on my watch, so I guess it’s some weird bug.

@OutdoorMan This is how it looks for me the first time I use the watch after I reboot it or after an update. Then next time it shows the flat line. What is even more, I have just tried starting a run after finishing another run, and the graph showed HR from the last 40 minutes of the previous run. These is some weird sharing of the data across activities which to me seems like a clear bug. But I have Race 1, so there may be a subtle difference between my watch and your watch when though they are supposed to run the same software.
Anyway, that was meant to be just as example of something that I reported over a year ago. But I could make a decently long list of other things. Seeing all these bugs not being fixed is what gives me a pause when I think about an upgrade. After all. the new watches run exactly the same software and seem to be even more buggy. If I was a satisfied user, I would buy a new Race as soon as it was released.

@aiv4r that is the thing people say when sleep tracking “just works”. I find forums are people with singular experiences. Rather than being empathetic to the tech needs of others we retreat to amplifying our singular n of 1 experiences.
I would not make such a point if I had not seen a lot of people reaching out for help. Sorry your “most people” just work. I celebrate them. When you have software issues I hope that is not the response you get

@Ollipolli I agree. Where are the updates? I got my race 2 a little over a week ago and have noticed so many random glitches and silly things that are missing in the the basic functionality of the watch that its competitors in similar price ranges have. For example… a very basic “feature”, and I cringe when I say its a feature but being able to show what the remaining battery percentage corresponds to in actual days. Why can we not see this?? Also, sometimes the button shortcuts dont work when im on the watch face screen and everything is unlocked. I have to scroll a bit and then itll work. So many more that a lot of people on reddit are talking about too.

@Stavrogin i think your missynderstood my point but that is fine, everybody has their opinion. But I suggest you to use your own logic and think that people who do not have problems will not go to forums and reddit and say thay it works for them, since they do not have a reason. We only see those who complain and I assume that is minority of poeple.
I have full understanding for people if it does not work and I hope it will be improved for them. -
@pgrob said in We need Updates!:
Hello everyone,
I’ve been a Race 2 owner for 10 days (after 4 years with the Fenix 6 Pro) and am actually quite happy with the Race 2, but I’ve read about some issues and bugs with the software here in the forum. To those who have been Suunto users for a long time: how does it work at Suunto? Can we expect regular updates that fix the bugs? I’ve heard a lot of good things about the Race 1.
Does that mean we just need to be a little patient with the Race 2 and the Software?i think the best course of action is to work out what issues for you are dealbreakers, report them to suunto, and if they are not fixed within your 30 day return issue, then return the watch (with reference to the issue). that is the only real bargaining power we have with suunto.
i note that one of my dealbreaker issues remains unfixed 9 months after I reported it (and 8 months after I returned my watch): https://forum.suunto.com/topic/12624/interval-laps-are-not-exported-to-third-parties-and-.fit-file-correctly-if-lap-button-is-presed-breaks-runna-strava - and it seems it existed years before.
i liked a lot about the watch and would potentially return to suunto if i saw a meaningful change in their software approach, but they seem very lost right now.

I just got this, fingers crossed!
