      Can’t comment on the HR monitor you mentioned but I use the Coros HR monitor with my Race 2 - works great, connects immediately when I select an activity

      Have you tried updating the firmware on your HR monitor?

        I used my Coospo chest strap yesterday without issues. Immediately connected and told me what the watch was connecting to.

          @brianoverby with the Coros HRM as it is optical you won’t get ZoneSense, if that matters to you…

            I have a serious problem with H10…
            I have paired it to the watch but every time I start a workout it is very difficult to connect automatically.
            The battery on the H10 is brand new and has no issue when I connect to Polar flow or a Garmin 955.
            On the other hand Polar Verity sense behaves much better with the Race 2.
            I have deleted and re-paired the H10 but the problem remains.
            I am very annoyed by this problem.

              @Nikolai current design to connect to HR devices is for each sports mode to remember the HR device it connected to and next time you open the same sport mode it’ll try to connect automatically to that device only. If you want to change to another one, you’ll have to search for it and selected it from the list. It might change in a future release but that’s the main thing to be aware of.

                @herlas thank you very much for your reply.
                To be honest I find this limitation very strange and I don’t remember having it in other watches in the past.

                    The problems continue…
                    I deleted Polar verity sense.
                    I kept only Polar H10.
                    I did two runs on the treadmill and two indoor cycling sessions and everything worked fine…Today I had a long run and the problems returned.
                    After 20 minutes, the watch lost the connection completely. Then it paired again but the were spikes in the readings.
                    This can’t be happening…
                    It is crazy for me that Suunto can’t find a solution to pair the watch to the most popular chestrap without problems.
                    Any other ideas guys???
                    Should I reset the H10 for the first time after 4 years of usage without any issues?

                        @Nikolai
                        I have previously had some issues with H10. Invariably they were traced to wear on the inside of the strap itself, not the actual unit. I found the strap wore out after perhaps six months of use (maybe 5 runs a week on average). If you turn the strap inside out and gently fold it back against it’s normal curvature you might notice tiny cracks in the sensor pads. These often aren’t visible the ‘right way round’. A new strap (even a compatible cheap one from eBay) usually solved the problem.
                        Hope this helps.

                          @MarkG thank you very much for the proposal.
                          I am almost certain that it is a problem of the watch, because I have been using Polar H10 strap for the past 4 years with two Garmin watches and I never had any issues.
                          The battery on the strap is brand new.
                          I am disappointed.
                          I have switched to Polar verity sense which seems to work much better with the watch.

                            Cheers Nikolai. I’ve also got a verity sense which is what I use virtually all the time and have had no problems with it at all. However I might be going back to the H10 to give Zonesense a try once Santa brings my V2.
                            Shame the Polar won’t work with it - I find it a lot more convenient and reliable and all my HR readings correspond with what I expect after years of using chest straps.

                                Même problème : une fois sur deux la Suunto Race 2 ne s’appaire pas à la Polar H10 et quand elle le fait si je fais 2 séances distinctes, la Race ne veut plus s’appairer à la H10 la seconde fois. C’est un peu énervant. 1ère fois que je rencontre ce problème avec une montre et j’en ai eu pas mal (Apple, Polar, Coros, Garmin). C’est étrange. Par contre toutes mes ceintures Garmin s’appairent tout de suite ou presque à la Race 2.

                                  @herlas said in race 2 + HR strap = 😕:

                                  current design to connect to HR devices is for each sports mode to remember the HR device it connected to and next time you open the same sport mode it’ll try to connect automatically to that device only

                                  That’s how it is supposed to work, but it doesn’t quite work that way. Here’s an issue that I have just experienced today:

                                  On my trail run profile, the watch is paired to Coros HRM. On my road run profile the last few times I used the built-in wrist HR sensor.

                                  Yesterday I couldn’t find find my Coros HRM so I used the run profile with the built-in HRM. Today as I was wearing Coros HRM and about to start a trail run, the watch showed a popup telling me that Coros HRM was connected. Good! But since the run profile was preselected, it was flashing the built-in HRM icon trying to obtain the lock. OK, since that was the wrong sport profile, I went ahead and changed the profile to trail run. Nevertheless the watch continued to try to obtain the built-in HRM lock rather than switching to Coros HRM, despite the fact that the built-in HRM is explicitly turned off for trail run profile. So basically it was stuck - trying to use built-in HRM without success because it is turned off rather than using Coros HRM that it told me it has already successfully connected to. What a mess! To me this looks like this has never been properly tested!

                                  In the past when I tried to use a mix of Coros HRM and Suunto HRM on different profiles, it was even worse.
