I tested my 9PP and it recorded sleep with no issues.
@Brad_Olwin, as reported in https://forum.suunto.com/post/182036, the OHR sensor gave up during last night after more that a month since the watch update.
I’m not writing just to duplicate the post, but to highlight that a week-ish testing should not be enough to validate this issue solution; actually, tonight was the first time the OHR sensor stopped since the 11th of November.

Last night my watch also stopped measuring heart rate in the middle of the night. I bought the watch only 6 days ago. A soft restart returned the heart rate. I have software 2.48.16

As you did, I’ve always soft reset the watch to restore the functionality of the OHR sensor; however, yesterday I’ve tried to restore the sensor by switching on and than off the “Power Saving” mode: it worked!
In this way you do not have to synchronise the watch before the reset to keep the latest data, obviously in case of you do not keep your watch constantly connected to the phone via Bluetooth.

Hello Everyone!
I noticed that in the last three days something is not working properly about sleep monitoring for my S9PP. It seems that the watch could not give a right report, but the app shows more correct data. I did a soft reset this morning but the data are still uncorrect on the watch. I will wait for coming night to check if the issue is still there. Anyone have the same issue there? Any idea?
Thank you! -
I have been using the 9 PP for 3 years so far, with different firmware versions, and the sleeping track has worked well until 4 days ago. Since Tuesday it stopped tracking sleeping and recovering measures. I’m currently in 2.50.26 firmware upgrade. I have just soft reset the watch. Let’s see what happens tonight.

I’ve owned the 9PP for several years and never had issues, however the HR has stopped tracking in the middle of the night twice this week reporting an hour or two of sleep. I’m on v2.50.28
Thanks for the help

Interestingly, it consistently happens around 12:30am each time

Scratch that, it happened in the middle of the day but the HR is consistently stopping for me, which is throwing off my sleep tracking and training data. It may be related to the Suunto HR strap, which I started using recently. I love Suunto but this is making me consider alternatives.

First time I checked after experiencing this problem with the 9PP , I was running software version 2.48.16. Now with version 2.50.28, it’s still the same: Every few days out of the blue, the heart rate monitor LED lights stop working. Only after switching the watch off and on again does it reactivate. Impossible to accurately track sleep and HRV at night, since this issue messes up the statistics.
I’ve been loyal to the Suunto brand for over 10 years (First had a Suunto M2, upgraded in jan. 2020 to a Suunto 9 and now, since jan. 2025 Suunto 9 Peak Pro), but my loyalty is now seriously challenged.

I’m experiencing the same issue over the last month or so. Has anyone at Suunto acknowledged this yet and provide a fix?
