@GratefulDeadpan Hmm, nothing for me… but I guess that’s what people want. I’ve never understood how it’s supposed to work or how to really use it.

@martintrail I’m intrigued for sure. I would guess that it looks at your sustained effort, heart rate, power, recovery and your previous workouts to establish some kind of baseline but I really know to little here. All I know is that people aren’t that impressed by Garmin’s offering here and I doubt Suunto’s will be much better. But I’d be happy to be proven wrong here because I’d really like for this feature to work.

Run 2 confirmed. But still no leaks about SRs3 ?Rumors on Race 3 is it will be later this year, possibly October, so giving the Run 2 a bit of spotlight first. Race 3S may come out concurrently with Race 3 or maybe not. Again, only rumors at this point and I don’t recall a reliable source for information other than the Race 3 / Race 3S names appear in databases so should release eventually.

As we have seen early rumours about three new devices, I think it will be the following:
- Suunto Run 2
- Suunto HRM 2
- Suunto Race S 3 (2?)
Not sure that Suunto will really already replace the Race 2, which is only a good year old now.

@Wilson75 The watch looks really nice, but to be honest, I’m not sure what to think about that “EnergySense” screen. If they’re copying Garmin, at least they should copy the actually useful features.

4gb is plenty for maps @wilson75
But also seeing how Coros are pushing maps to Pace 4 which also only got 4gb of storage, which when released didn’t support it, makes me wonder if Suunto will do the same with maps for Run 1. Because I have always seen the Run as the better b4b over the Pace line but now I’m not so sure. The price-hike from Suunto does not feel that justified any longer.

With maps that seems to arrive, I wonder if run 2 is still build on the run 1 firmware version (I mean different fw linup from SR, SV…)

@Tieutieu my guess is same as Run1 to not “allow” it SuuntoPlus comparability because then the Run2 would potentially eat quite a few Race 3S sales?

No longer plausible. Coros just shows that it’s possible to have maps with 4gb storage

@Wilson75 Coros maps are really small bite-sized downloads. 4GB should be plenty for in Coros map land. Many areas are 50mb or less.

@jthomi I don’t see any huge change coming from the Race 2 to Race 3… maybe some in-watch AI related thing (specific co-processor required), but I don’t think that Race 3 will come with major GPS + battery + screen upgrade, mainly because Race 2 is one year old tech. But we’ll see
PD: I’ve recently change my Coros Apex 4 to a Suunto Race 2, so maybe I’ll regret not waiting a little longer…

@usainzg Same here, but having an older model, there seems to be quite some options now for a never model. Also find it a little odd that there is maybe a Race 3 coming while the one still is new.
