Suunto Run – SuuntoPlus interval workout synced but not showing on watch at all
-
Hi everyone,
I’m stuck on an issue and wondering if anyone else has run into this on the Suunto Run.
Setup:
- Watch: Suunto Run
- Firmware: 3.27.18 (latest)
- Watch was factory reset this morning, Running sport mode is untouched/default (no customization)
What I did in the app:
- Tapped the watch icon (top-left) in the Suunto app
- Went to “Interval workouts” and created a new structured workout, assigned to the Running sport mode
- Went to “My SuuntoPlus guides”, found the workout listed under “Sync to watch”
- Tapped it and toggled “Pin to watch” on
- Synced the watch
On the watch:
- Selected Running sport mode, went through every screen/option before starting an exercise (including Training mode / Exercise settings)
- The guide is nowhere to be found - no automatic prompt, no manual selection option, nothing
What I’ve already tried:
- Confirmed firmware is fully up to date (3.27.18)
- Full factory reset
- Re-synced multiple times
The app keeps showing the guide as synced and pinned, but the watch just doesn’t show it anywhere.
For reference, I know this is supposed to work on this exact watch - here’s a video showing it working fine on a Suunto Run: https://youtu.be/FZW8RGb1ST0?t=314
Has anyone else hit this? Did a re-pairing (forget device + re-pair) fix it for you, or something else? Any tips appreciated before I wait on a support ticket reply.
Thanks!

@benjaminb It is not compatible.
-
@benjaminb I have not attempted a pinned workout but my created workouts will indeed sync. I do not have the Run v1 with me at the moment but I can check this. Did you have a date set in the workout? I would try creating without a pin to watch and set the date for today.
-
@boxwex I’m pretty sure it is. It’s advertised as supported on the Suunto Run product page, and if you check the YouTube video I linked (with the timestamp), you can clearly see an interval session being used on the watch.
So either it was compatible at some point and has since stopped working, which would be a real bummer, especially considering the watch is literally called “Run”, or there’s a bug in a recent firmware update. I’m hoping it’s the latter.
-
Hmm… Interval workouts really don’t sync at all. Awesome update

-
-
@benjaminb I have the same problem. I can sync very simple workouts (i.e. one single interval), but anything more complex won’t appear on the watch. Everything worked perfectly last week, I wonder why it is not working anymore.
-
@Rubén-0 As for me, when I tried to check the sync, my previously recorded workouts were deleted.
Suunto probably doesn’t have time to fix this issue due to the RUN 2 launch. Plus, they are currently in full ‘Bongo Cat’ mode.
-
I’ve had my watch since January, programming intervals with no synch issues until last Saturday (5th September) since then I managed to reprogram last Saturday and Tuesday’s intervals and it did eventually recognise it on my watch but today’s run has not shown on my watch no matter what I try. Only 6 weeks out from a marathon I can’t afford for this to be happening

-
That’s a pity! I hope they fix it as soon as possible. I can’t understand how they can have an issue like this. It really affects the way people train

If you haven’t done so, contact suunto support support@suunto.com
They usually answer fast and I believe the best way to push for action -
Same for me the intervals isn’t showing on the watch, very annoying bug. I have just sent an email to the support.

@benjaminb
Same issue here since a few weeks ago. Tried everything from reinstalling the app and watch, but no success.
Contacted support a few days ago, but no response yet -
@André-Faria thanks, will try them today
-
Thanks everyone for your replies. It’s pretty clear at this point that this is a bug introduced by the latest update.
I’m currently in touch with support by email, and I’m hoping they’ll be able to roll out a patch soon

@benjaminb
I’ve the same problem. I tried all the options but it didn’t work. In the app I upload the session with the pin and on it he training session is on “synchronized with the clock”. Then I go to the watch and nothing there isn’t. This new updates for the Suunt Run doesn’t work very well. Before them I was so happy with the clock, but now is one week that I can use the “interval wokouts”. This morning I sent an email to the assistance and I hope they can help me. -
Support has told me there is a bug in the last update. Soon there will be an update to fix it

Hello all,
Got a response from the Suunto support with step by steps instructions on how to fix this and it worked ! Here are the steps:
- Uninstall and reinstall the Suunto App to ensure that you have a fresh installation.
- Alternatively, clear the Suunto App cache through your phone’s app settings.
- Please also remove all training plans currently saved in the Suunto App.
- After completing the above steps, reopen the app and download the training plans again.
In my case, after re-creating a structured interval workout and syncing the watch, I had to close the Suunto app, re-open it and sync again for the workout to appear in my watch.
Hope it helps !
