Just sharing my experience with random restarts. Suunto service replaced my watch with a new one. Now I have no random restarts, even in situations where I could trigger a restart using Suunto Plus on my old watch. So in my case, it was a hardware defect. Now I’m a happy Vertical 2 user.

Net necessary. It could be some file on your old watch which became correct which is missing (or not corrupt) on your new watch.

For you it doesn’t matter. You have a watch without crashes.

@Dimitrios-Kanellopoulos My Vertical 2 crashed during a bicycle commute activity today. I don’t use any Suunto apps, have nothing connected to the watch except a Pixel 8 Android phone. Latest firmware 2.56.28. I believe that it happened when I receive an incoming phone call. I answered it with my Bluetooth earphones (didn’t touch the watch) after noticing the incoming call on my watch.
I uploaded logs and sent you my email via chat.

One of the crashes I experienced before 2.56.28 was triggered by an incoming text notification. So this might not have been fixed after all.

I got restart few days ago during walking activity and again it was triggered by incoming call. So it’s not repaired. Already wrote it HERE in Q2 hotfix topic.

@isazi Thanks! I will do that. I sent logs and chat with support, but it seemed to me, that they can’t create ticket. They recommended me for next time use help center/feedback through suunto app.

@isazi Yet another crash today. It was clearly triggered by a received phone call notification on the watch. I’ve just uploaded logs using the feedback feature in the app.

Honestly, I no longer trust this watch! I think this was my 6th or 7th crash since I owned Vertical 2 (since April 2026). If there is no guarantee that these crashes will be fixed for good in the upcoming software update, I am done with Suunto! If it can’t be reliable during activities, nothing else matters!

@sky-runner It´s sad. I switch from Garmin because of these restarts. But I had to buy a Wahoo for cycling, because Suunto doesn´t support radar and some sensors.I also moved to intervals.icu because now I have two ecosystems. V2 was good for half year, but now I don´t trust it too. Hope that users will send logs in proper way and it will be fixed.
I have more activities on bike, records on V2 just for Zone sense, but on these rides I never had crash. It was while walking activity and cycling commuting. So for now, I have no logs to send. I also tried one whole day walk recording without GPS, but I had only one incoming call :-))).
