@Shahaf-Ettedgui No issues reported about straps. Can you check the battey of it?
What do you mean GPS is not syncing and via what app ?

This has been a problem for me too since end of April. It looks like A-GPS data (satellite almanac) update is no longer updating reliably, at least when syncing to Movescount. A soft reset fixes that temporarily, but after a week or two the problem repeats. Currently AGPS date on my watch is 2019-06-06.
I have an SSU as per right know my AGPS is dated on 2019-06-17 and on Friday it was 2019-06-14, so you AGPS is out of date. Something is wrong and is not updating your AGPS.
Hi how can I check agps date? All what I see in settings is GPS 19073,0939bf6,140
-
@tomahawk5000 look for assisted GPS.
-
@isazi oh, right now I see 2020/03/07
Thank you -
Hi,
I have problems with my Suunto 9 Baro. I use Suuntolink to synchronize settings and AGPS data. Unfortunately AGPS data are not updated. AGPS file is 3 weeks old so it takes a long time to find GPS signal. The only solution is to reset my watch and sync again but it shouldn’t work like this. In my opinion this file should be updated every time the new one exists.
Suuntolink app version: 2.28.1
Suunto 9 soft version: 2.11.38 -
@Michal-Postupalski why not sync with sunto app ?
-
Recently, I have experienced this problem too with S9B.
Last 2 weeks it takes about 5-7 minutes to find a GPS fix.
I checked the AGPS on my watch, it is up to date, I always synchronize with the SA before leaving the house and the date is current day.
I did a soft reset, it didn’t help. I used GPS + Beidou, changed to GPS only, also no improvement.
I don’t think I did anything right before the problem happened (FW update or anything like that)
Is there anything else I can do? -
@kabzior This is not normal. I have never had this problem. Make sure that the AGPS is there, sometimes mine does not sync properly. The only time I have had this issue is when the AGPS file is missing. Are you using the cable and the newer Suuntolink, charging via connection to the computer?
-
@Brad_Olwin Yes, AGPS is there, I always sync before activity and the date of AGPS in settings->info is up to date.
I charge with wall charger. The only two times I connected watch to PC and Suuntolink was when I was upgrading software. -

The AGPS file needs some minutes to deploy, if you sync just before the activity, when you try to get the GPS lock it is deploying so it is like it is missing but later when you check it, it is up to date, these are my findings and my own experience.
In my opinion with an AGPS up to 3/4 days old you should not have issues getting a GPS lock in less than a minute and if you sync before the activity do it at least 30 minutes before it.
-
@cosmecosta if I remember correctly from similar discussions in this forum, the watch needs 15 minutes to extract the data.

That is a valuable advice, thank you, will try to do that.
But on the other hand - if I sync every day before the activity, even if watch needs like 15 mins to process the data, it still has AGPS data from the day before…

No it doesn’t has the one from the day before, when it is updating it is like there is no AGPS file, at least in my experience.
-
@cosmecosta OK, so I did soft reset once more, synced in the morning and went for a run in the evening. Got GPS fix in exactly 110 seconds, which is worse than before problems began, but still significantly better than 6-7 min that I had for last 2 weeks.
-
@kabzior
After the soft reset, the first fix can be little longe : the reset will aslo reset the “previous” position data (not only AGPS). -
@kabzior Do you select your exercise indoor? In other words, is GPS active indoor? I noticed on my s9 baro that when I select an exercise indoor and then walk out the door it takes sometimes significantly longer to get a fix then when I select an exercise while I am standing outside.
I’m the last case I almost always get a fix immediately -
@surfboomerang
Starting the GPS fix inside can be counterproductive as the watch starts looking for the satellites it guess to find based on AGPS and last position, but it can’t (in most cases) as it is indoor so it starts the default search.
This can increase the fix time when you go outside and it’s a common GPS “issue”.
But I don’t think it’s @kabzior case here -
@Mff73 yeah, you are right, the next day after reset watch found fix in about 15 sec, just like when it was brand new
unfortunately day after that it took again about 2 min and yesterday 4-5 min
also when entering sport mode watch displayed a message like “sync your watch to suunto app to get best gps accuracy” (never seen that before), but AGPS date in settings was up to date.@surfboomerang @sartoric
I do not select activity when indoor, I go outside the building and do that then, usually before I chose my spotify playlist i get fix, but not those last days now. -
@kabzior
When GPS fix is long, could it be because you are searching GPS in a new location from last one, and “far” from previous one ? If so, then, GPS fix is also a bit longer, as the watch remember the previous location. -
@kabzior There might be something wrong, I cannot remember the last time it took me more than 10-20s to get a GPS fix.
