@lexterm77 it’s false on few minor details, as it for example also states that s9b doesn’t have fusedtrack

Can snap to route be used as a track mode?

@prenj nope unfortunately. But keep in mind that most track based modes will awlays show you running at the line you defined (which is ok). That also means that if you do a different line you need to change that, even if it’s recovery. That said I most welcome a track mode , from Suunto, that just doesn’t do the GPS pretty but rather mark the laps better. But that is also already happening in most of the track and field conditions (open tracks).

@lexterm77 You mean the US? I thought Canadian lady has sorted you out. The pre-orders are available in Mexico. Maybe I should plan a trip there and pick the watch up while at it. Just got a handful of Caribbean vacation emails…

@dulko79 until it has scratches 😜

All jokes aside, there are different grades of titanium. Without exact specs it’s hard to tell I’m afraid.
But maybe an expert can tell us more.

I was referring to s9b purchase when it came out, pre order button did not exist. Same problem now, why should I ping pong between voice mails when I should just click pay and wait!

@lexterm77 No argument there. It’s as if Suunto didn’t want our money 🤷

@dulko79 YMVV. My nearly 3 year old titanium S9B is like new, though admittedly it is almost exclusively used for street and simple trail running, nothing drastic. Only a few weeks of daily wear in total.

My Fenix 6X Solar has a number of scruffs, mostly invisible, after about 4 months of daily use and training, but this is due to it being silver bezel variant.

My Vertix Space Gray, on the other hand, has several scratches after just a month of daily use and training. Apparently, DLC isn’t all it’s cracked out to be.

No, I’m not a person who hits the walls and other obstacles with their watches… On a typical day.

Bottom line: if you get black or painted titanium, even DLC, expect scratches. Same goes for silver version, but scruffs will be far less visible there. Titanium doesn’t really offer much in terms of protection, more like less weight.

Grade 5 titanium is referred to oxide content must be less than 0.2% and alloys that do not cause you a skin rash like stainless steel with its nickel, it does not mean it is scratch proof. It is medical grade metal with great anti corrosive properties. If you want less scratches you need heat treatment, which would add to a cost but it is doable if you want to wait and pay minimum charge for a batch which is several times the cost of a watch at your local metal heat treatment plant/forge. 😆
