@lexterm77 I went with Amazon, have more faith in their timely delivery, and I can easily return and change to titanium if the all black doesn’t work out.
Titanium looks great but those color insets on the sides under the bezel give me pause. Won’t go well with replacement bands.
I never had any issue with Suunto web shop, never had a problem with returns. Prefer to pay them instead, more premium buying experience.
-
@lexterm77 It’s my first order from the Suunto webshop, but if their delivery speed is the same as for repairs then there is no complaining from my side.
-
I have no doubt that any combination will look aesthetically pleasing except the the pinkish red they released for explorer band on s9b.

@andré-faria After June 17th it’s on sale for €299
ahhaha times 3
Don’t believe me? The prices are already dropping

@surfboomerang
I’ve ordered the new HR chest strap directly from the Suunto web shop and I received it within no time. -
@brad_olwin haha back to suunto essentials no discussions about battery capacity, updates, waypoint administration, turn by turn problems and the same nice suunto design
-
My power to hr ratio improved since I placed the order (due to unkown external factors)

@lexterm77
I call this the new gear paradox -
I am missing something I guess. How can s9p have sharper display?
s9P 1,2 inch display, 240x240 pix res. 30,48 mm /240 ppi = 7,78 pp/mil
s9B 1,34 inch display, 320x320 pix res. 34,06 mm /320 ppi = 9,39 pp/mil -
@zvonejan You forgot a flat tire at the bottom, so S9B resolution is 320x300 if that. Same goes for the diameter of 1.34" that’s true only horizontally. Sharpness may also be due to a better brightness of the screen, better backlight tint, and better optical bonding between sapphire glass and the actual display.
Time will tell once these get into more people hands.
S9B has a fantastic display no doubt about it, but I’m not sure it beats 1.4" MIPS on Fenix 6X covered by sapphire. I think new Peak might have a similar, although smaller display. They all – Polar and COROS – seem to settle on that 1.2" size.
-
@freeheeler new gear euphoria, endorphins booster
-
-
@brad_olwin superb battery life on that model!
-
Probably in the “sucker for new toys“ camp but I “had” to pre-order. And I have quite small wrists, so really looking forward to a watch less bulky than than my S9B. More like my Observer from the days of yore :).

Nobody think is possible to adjust contrast and brightness of the S9B by FW changes ?

I have the impression that sapphire coating on garmin models gives a lot of reflections.
On the 6S Sapphire I had I noticed it a bit.
On the ambit 3 peak I never noticed, but maybe it was because it was BW.
Decided to pull the trigger on a Suunto 9 Peak Granite Blue Titanium, and a Suunto Bottle
Let’s see how it goes -
@surfboomerang I know, this shop… Finishes with inn . It’s not far from my home, some people that I know work there. Sometimes they have very good deals, shipment is another story.

On the 6S Sapphire I had I noticed it a bit.Yes, it’s far more reflective than Gorilla glass, for example. That being said, it’s also far clearer, brighter, without any blueish hues. The screen’s colors have more punch to them. Especially in direct light. Black stays black and doesn’t turn into very dark navy.
But to each his own. Some would want a less reflective screen.

Maybe brightness, but that would mean more battery drain. My S9B already lasts no more than 4-5 days with daily tracking and training

Nothing wrong. 4-5 days with daily tracking and training is what Suunto anounced.
