Hi, my Suunto Race S gps stopped working after update to version 2.39.20
I tried soft reset, hard reset and it didn’t help…
Does anyone have any ideas other than taking the watch to a service center?

@Bernard-P Can you give a bit more information. I had no issues on Race S with the update. When you say stopped working what is actually happening?

@Brad_Olwin so… a few days ago I went for a run, turned on the sports mode and waited for the GPS icon to stop flashing… unfortunately it didn’t… I tried to turn off the sports mode a few times but it didn’t help…
after returning from running I did a soft reset and then a hard reset - that didn’t help either… I tried to read the location on the map - it also didn’t work…
to sum up, all the other functions of the watch work properly… except for the GPS
I’m very surprised because before these problems with GPS I didn’t change any settings, configurations, etc. the only thing I did was update the software
it seems to me that the only solution is to send the watch to the service centre… and in the meantime use the good old Ambit 3 Peak watch 🙂

@Brad_Olwin …and I’m also sending a photo of my Suunto Race S with a non-working GPS, the GPS icon blinks and never changes color to green 😞IMG_5657.jpeg

@Bernard-P have you checked in settings/about to see if a current AGPS file is present?

@Brad_Olwin In settings/about me I checked AGPS after each synchronization, e.g. in today’s photo it looks like it’s ok.
I have no more ideas what could be wrong, it looks like I have to send the watch to a service centre – that’s bad news, because I really like my Suunto Race S 😞
But there is one positive thing in this situation… yesterday I remembered how it was when I used the indestructible suunto Ambit3 Peak 🙂
Thank you for your interest in my problem!

@Bernard-P if the GPS icon is not blinking then maybe time for repair. You could try a firmware downgrade first,

@Brad_Olwin I don’t know how to do a firmware downgrade… is it easy? if so, can you write how to do it?

@Bernard-P I thought it might be hardware! Sorry.
