Why does Suunto always wake me up in the middle of the night?
-
Ok. They did it AGAIN. And I am not amused.
Two nights ago, at 2:15 in the middle of the night, my Race thought again “hey, what a great time to inform my user about a new firmware version! Let’s ignore all DND settings and wake him up, I am sure he’s going to be thrilled to react to the bright, yellow question whether to update now or later!! He will not forgive me if I wait for the next morning when do not disturb is switched off! Let’s go - he will surely be very excited, maybe he’s going to use my new firmware right away in the middle of the night!”
And so it did. Bright lit screen, directly in my face to wake me up.
Suunto. Really?
What is so hard about understanding why people use auto DND every night? I’ll explain: because I do not want to be disturbed. I want the watch to be dark, not vibrate and not make sounds.Who is the dork who does not understand this and programs a bypass for DND in order to inform me about updates in the middle of the night? Who?

@Olaf-Gottschalk I reported this long ago and it has been corrected at least for me. On DND my watch will update but will not exit DND and will not notify me. I’ll ask about this but has been fixed for many firmware updates for me. Did you have OTA deferred or some other odd setting? Since I receive at least one firmware update per week and often more this was far more of an issue for me.
At any rate it would help if you did not automatically assume everyone but you is an idiot. -
@Olaf-Gottschalk I am locking this as you already reported in the update page.
