My power to hr ratio improved since I placed the order (due to unkown external factors) 😆

I am missing something I guess. How can s9p have sharper display?

          s9P 1,2 inch display, 240x240 pix res. 30,48 mm /240 ppi = 7,78 pp/mil
          s9B 1,34 inch display, 320x320 pix res. 34,06 mm /320 ppi = 9,39 pp/mil

@zvonejan You forgot a flat tire at the bottom, so S9B resolution is 320x300 if that. Same goes for the diameter of 1.34" that’s true only horizontally. Sharpness may also be due to a better brightness of the screen, better backlight tint, and better optical bonding between sapphire glass and the actual display.

Time will tell once these get into more people hands.

S9B has a fantastic display no doubt about it, but I’m not sure it beats 1.4" MIPS on Fenix 6X covered by sapphire. I think new Peak might have a similar, although smaller display. They all – Polar and COROS – seem to settle on that 1.2" size.

Probably in the “sucker for new toys“ camp but I “had” to pre-order. And I have quite small wrists, so really looking forward to a watch less bulky than than my S9B. More like my Observer from the days of yore :).

I have the impression that sapphire coating on garmin models gives a lot of reflections.
On the 6S Sapphire I had I noticed it a bit.
On the ambit 3 peak I never noticed, but maybe it was because it was BW.
Decided to pull the trigger on a Suunto 9 Peak Granite Blue Titanium, and a Suunto Bottle 🤠
Let’s see how it goes 😃

@surfboomerang I know, this shop… Finishes with inn 😉. It’s not far from my home, some people that I know work there. Sometimes they have very good deals, shipment is another story.

Yes, it’s far more reflective than Gorilla glass, for example. That being said, it’s also far clearer, brighter, without any blueish hues. The screen’s colors have more punch to them. Especially in direct light. Black stays black and doesn’t turn into very dark navy.

But to each his own. Some would want a less reflective screen.

Maybe brightness, but that would mean more battery drain. My S9B already lasts no more than 4-5 days with daily tracking and training 😭

Nothing wrong. 4-5 days with daily tracking and training is what Suunto anounced.

My biggest question after thinking about the watch for a couple of days is, why didn’t they produce an updated version of the Baro with OTA updates and PaO2 sensor. I understand that Suunto clearly has a software trajectory which everyone has different expectations of, but with the production of the Peak the Titanium is relatively obsolete.

Just a guess, possibily component supply availability

Not blueish colors? Maybe you got lucky, or me not lucky.
Mine was kinda blueish. I heard that theory that sapphire fenix 6 didn’t had blueish displays but not my case with the 6s

Always good luck with them. Except when I choose gls as shipment enterprise.

Here you go, temptation for those that have not ordered yet and satisfaction for those that have. One of these two watches was in Endurance Mode. Which one? S9baro in Endurance Mode both using OHR.

@brad_olwin Assuming S9P was in Endurance mode this indeed looks stunningly good. But let’s not forget that inaccuracy of S9B in this example is partially due to the fact that it logs trackpoints less frequently than it could. Perhaps that changed in the last year but when I was using the watch I found that it logged trackpoints at least 10 meters apart, and often further.

@sky-runner S9b was in Endurance mode, S9 Peak was in Performance mode, pretty impressive battery!

@brad_olwin it almost looks like there is greater variance with the Baro especially with respect to what I presume the trail is. Using a broken tool to determine accuracy of another tool is not really a great way to determine proficiency.
