Suunto OW202?
-
A new watch?
-
-
Maybe yes…
-
@ze-stuart Suunto 7 is OW185
-
The sample of the model OW202 is a Sports watch with GPS for tracking outdoor trainings, optical heart rate measurement and BLE connectivity to connect with a smart phone and the Suunto App for recording training logs and analyze training and 24/7 data
-
I’m curious, though, what’s the OW-20* series? Does anyone know the answer to that? If no other watches exist with that model number, this suggests a new line (eg Suunto 11), else, new version of existing line.
-
@ze-stuart I always thought those numbers were relatively random.
-
@ze-stuart
the ones who know keep it a secret, unlike phone manufacturers who fancy leaks in order to push customers desire -
@freeheeler in the end they all leak it, just timing must be right.
-
@aleksander-h with the 9 Baro being OW-193 and the 9 Peak being OW-194, I don’t think they’re random at all, we just don’t know the pattern Suunto uses to assign them.
If there’s already an OW-201, eh, updated thingy, that’s nice. If there’s no OW-201, it’s exciting.
@freeheeler “Exigua est virtus servare silentium, sed culpa gravis esse loqui de quibus didicit.” (Pūblius Ovidius Nāsō) [or something like that]
@dulko79 well said.
-
@ze-stuart a new watch combining diving computer and an outdoor watch maybe?
-
Speculation ON
A completely new line of sport watches?
From OW194 of Peak until OW202 you have 8. In other hand you can get big discounts around the world on Suunto products, around 30-40%…
Can be possible? -
@дима-мельниченко I’d love that.
-
I think it’s a new watch with all the changes from mr-pvc
-
The Suunto 9 got smaller and sleaker. The Suunto 7 got a titanium edition. I’m guessing it’s the Suunto 5 turn to get a new improved version.
-
Suunto 7 with newer android wear?
I think that or a newer 9 with same hardware as the peak, it would make sense for the fans of big watches, for the range…to have a “competitor” to the F6/F6X Sapphire just like the S9P “compeats” with F6SS.
Let’s wait to see.
Honestly I am more curious about software news than the “hardware”. I think with the peak, regarding hardware Suunto is already doing very good. -
@andré-faria said in Suunto OW202?:
Suunto 7 with newer android wear?
Doubt it. Seems like Wear 3.0 right now is an exclusive club consisting of Samsung and Google. Obviously others will get access, but seems they are putting the spotlight on Samsung for now.
-
@andré-faria I doubt it, as no WiFi is listed in the spec: I can’t see an Android Wear not having WiFi. Its only connectivity is Bluetooth and GNSS.
@Aleksander-H your logic is sound, but the 5’s model number is OW-186, and based on the other model numbers I’d expect a new 5 to be OW-187. (Interestingly the 7 is OW-185, making me think OW-18* is mid-tier.)
I’ve done some heavy Googling - and I’m open to have missed something - but I can’t find a Suunto product line that starts with OW-2**. I can’t find a photo of the back of the D5, though.
-
@ze-stuart " I can’t find a photo of the back of the D5, though."
I think its DW-182 -
@t1sugar so it’s not a diving watch then. What about s3? It’s the oldest in the lineup, isn’t it?
