New Suunto watch coming
-
@isazi If you compare them to that new-disco watch face, s9pp watch faces are super minimal xDD
But I guess this is to show off OLED screen, you don’t need super-shiny-disco watchface to show off standard screens

@DMytro yeah I get it, I am just being emotional …

Suunto Users in 3 month.

@Lechamoix AHAHAHHAHAHAH

@Lechamoix molto simpatica non disturba affatto…ahahah

Ill admit I have mixed feeling about this announcement. Not from the perspective of Suunto launching a new watch - I hope it helps Suunto be more successful in this competitive market. But more from the perspective of the issues people have been having with the Vertical (me included - sporadic no map issues and weird resets) without clear communication from Suunto on when the issues will be fixed (but a shout out to the forum moderators here to fill in where they can).
I did reach out to official Suunto chat support to ask, based on the issues above, if there is any roadmap or date to the next firmware update, and they said no idea, so Im wondering if there is a disconnect on how to address these issues between Finland Suunto staff and the new owners (?).
Lets hope there is positive communication and updates to the Vertical soon, and hopefully aligns with the launch of a new device. Other companies (Garmin/Coros etc) have a fairly good record of porting new device updates to previous models, and the Vertical was promoted as a future proof watch given the processors and memory, so really hoping that change is good.

@Mff73 24h time and AM?
-
@Piotr-Grygiel yeah and digital plus analog watch faces combined in one
-
Disclaimer: that not official, not a promise, and no one empowered me to write this (and we’ll see if someone says I cannot ), but my own view:
Following comments of @tomasbartko @mikekoski490 and to reassure a bit:
- Upcoming new watch is not a replacement for Suunto Vertical, but a device with somewhat different positioning and some different hardware choices
- Suunto Vertical will obviously receive an FW update with many nice additions (I assume soon after new watch release). Both Vertical and upcoming watch has the same FW version in testing
-
@pavel-samokha I really hope this is the case. Suunto Vertical ticks all the boxes for me and I don’t care about payments, autonomous music or other lifestyle features which might come with the new watch. So, hopefully the Vertical will be supported for some time to come.

@Dušan-Ković I can’t see a picture. Is one still available?
-
@Jeffrey-Tillack Probably on the FCC website, admins removed the link from forum

Not that much to see. Just imagine a vertical with a rolling button in place of the middle one
-
@Tieutieu right-click to download PDF hahah
-
@pavel-samokha appreciate your view, thanks

Just thinking about the letters and numbers that accompany the name of this new watch, OW224. That wouldn’t be indicating February 2024?
-
@MiniForklift
S9B: OW183, launched 06/2018
S9P: OW194, launched 06/2021
S9PP: OW211, launched 11/2022Probably not then…

With everything going on with my old SV (and apparently with the new replacement) I have to ask: will the ‘crashing’ feature be included in the new watch?
-
@Hristijan-Petreski yes! Everone is working hard to introduce as many crashing scenarios as possible…
Seriously: what kind of value does your post add to the topic?
