@Johan-Ulijn said in Practical help to align zones between TP and Suunto.: I just wanted to post an update here. The last week I have seen a TSB -10. So it is possible. I also have reviewed the thresholds and max values in the zones and made small changes few weeks ago. It looks like the difference between TP and Suunto is getting less. I.e. the difference in TSB (balance, form) is now ~10 while it was > 20. Still I have noticed a big difference in TSS in todays activity. I went on my gravel bike for 72k, 2h38min. The TSS in TP is 269 while in Suunto it is 199. (both power TSS). How is that possible as Suunto using TP logic? The activity is recorded with a Hammerhead Karoo and synced to both, TP and Suunto. Not sure if that is relevant. Hope to get some useful feedback. If I should post this in a new topic, just let me know. This is a problem with import into Suunto, many have complained including a large number of field testers. I would manually adjust the Suunto TSS value. This only applies for imported workouts, I.e. from the Karoo.

Another thing I am missing is an analog watch face in excercise mode. Sometimes I just want to record the track I am doing when walking to know in the end how many kilometers I have done. But while walking just having a „normal“ watch.

@Brad_Olwin with Stryd that’s work very well but not with the power include on SV. The algorithm doesn’t take into account the ascent and descents. Hope that will change soon…

The other observation I forgot to add was wrist based power this is only consistent per activity and cannot be transferred from trail running uphill to flat running for example. You can only set one ftp either for flat running or uphill running if you wish to see your power zones accurately. Going uphill vertical kilometre zone 4 effort near threshold will produce low 200 watt range power for me . A simple zone 1 road run flat road will produce 260 watt power. I still love my suunto vertical please don’t get me wrong I’m not attacking suunto, actually I’m a staunch suunto defender at all times. I just tend to get to the bottom of things and test everything. And I’m sure these findings apply across all brands if tested enough

@Brad_Olwin yes, now I am confused and don’t know in which thread to reply but since @GiPFELKiND PM-ed me, I answered the question there and passed on the log data already. what I wonder: did you, @GiPFELKiND , setup the wifi and were downloading maps while charging? I think this could be a helpful detail

@Shrek3k Sounds like you need a satellite phone connected to the iridium network. Otherwise I dont think any sports or smartwatch from any brand takes weather forecast to the level you need. Maybe someday?

@Tieutieu I can agree with this. I did a two hour run in and around a forest at the weekend, the map screen was on the whole time and I think I used about 2% battery from memory
