@alschmid My experience is with the latest software. I did have not have the watch prior to the current SW release. But, I did read the thread about the widgets and agree, there should be more widgets easily accessible. So, I have set up weather as the right swipe widget and using short cut button for maps. It kind of works for me.

@Egika Great overview. I was looking for something like this, but couldn’t find it. There should be such a topic in the user manual of every watch.

@Vertical_Blink If you already soft reset your watch, if you are seeing green fixed arrow before launching activity, if you see your position on the map during activity, but nothing about GPS track in Suuntoapp after, I can’t help more. Let’s wait for others.

I had the same issue with ± button not working. Being on track with GPS being running. A restart of the watch solved it for me.

@Transitoire Hello there! I didn’t go through with the Waterrower (which mean I don’t have anything new to add). Hope you find a solution.

@Mauerwegler - Totally agree - in most cases. In this case, my zones were not correct originally because of the way my older watch worked w/ the app, but I didn’t use Suunto’s data except to load into TrainingPeaks (where they were correct) so it didn’t matter. Since I am now using Suunto’s data more I was just hoping there was a way to update like in TrainingPeaks which solves both problems - you can re-calculate old workouts with the ‘new’ zones, but by default ‘new’ zones only apply to future workouts. But yeah, I’m not concerned going forward - just had to manually edit the hrTSS on my first few workouts, but all good now.

@ChrisA that’s great to hear. I have had a few Garmin watches and they’re fairly good about user feedback as well. If we could get a few new ease-of-use features, I think this will be a perfect fit for me. I liked my Tactix 7 a lot, but it was honestly just too large and clunky. Aesthetically the Vertical is just . I love it.

@Brad_Olwin Thank you. I didn’t manage to download maps over my mobile. But I must admit that I tried with three maps at once. Maybe that was the point. I have the assumption, that SV lost the connection to the iPhone very quick again, after it was established (tethering symbol was shown quickly in the Dynamic Island). Anyway, the download of maps went smoothly at home over my WiFi there.

I think configurate data field(s) are preferred here so everyone can configure it to their needs. Perhaps with some kind if caroussel mode to avoid takeing up too much map space… During trailrunning, I use the map a lot to follow a route but I have no other metrics in sight. I always have to switch to the next screen and then all the way back to the map which is not very convenient. Especially now the touch sceen functions as pan option in the map instead of switching screens back and forth.

@juza77 That seems bizarre as arm movements should not affect GPS readings. Are you absolutely sure the GPS is active? The watch will interpret distance by movement if the GPS is not turned on.

@Lucadag92 I have the same issues when cycling or running. So you are not unique. I agree that this feature should work better. When I was using my Garmin, it was good enough for steady state runs, but not for workouts. I’d hoped for the same level of performance from my Vertical. I got a little improvement by switching to a Velcro band, but it’s still not great, and I have to use an external HR strap.
