@Retired-Assistant I believe you should contact support, VO2max may be because of your use, but HRV should work

@Artus-Diver Thanks for all the effort you are putting into this! Really hope that the issues are addressed as a result. My 1.5hr swim today got logged with a moving time of 2386 hours, 44 minutes and 25 seconds…

@Brad_Olwin thanks for the tip! that’s really helpful. why endurance? i’m nit living in gps-difficult-condituons. the single band option (endurance) already produces a near perfect track. I’m impressed to be honest. All i want is that the settings stay the same every time i start an activity. nevertheless, i will try try your additional sport mode approach as well as the custom gps mode trick.

@gone-troppo they will, probably, but I doubt it will ever make sense and cover all cases. Those algorithms are based on observation of the physiology of people running, but trail running has too much variability to ever reach a similar stability. You could be just running flat on a trail, running uphill on good trail, running on technical trails, pulling on chains on very technical terrain, and for the watch you’ll just be exhausted and running very slow. It is not just altitude gain, that’s way easy, is the variety of terrain that will never allow such algorithms to work.

I would love this feature implemented from the watch directly. I have no idea how in term of UX after finishing the previous activity… But I am sure Suunto UX guys can find something clever! On a another hand, Is the live track feature form Garmin could be have its equivalent in the Suunto? Thank you!

I think best era of Suunto was when Ambit 1/2/3 was on market. Now i know multiple people with Garmin and Suunto. It think people have less issues or shortcomings with Garmin. I never had different sports watch than Suunto. I really like it is European brand, i like design a lot. I like user interface of watch. I like how route planing works. I don’t like that suunto abandoned movescount. I don’t like WHR accuracy. I don’t like problematic GPS accuracy when openwater swimming. I don’t like how charging on my wifes S5P works. I don’t like need of watch in range of bluetooth if i want to change sport modes in suunto app. I really hate that suunto changed backlight behavior of S5 with firmware update(removing toggle and dim backlight when dnd enabled), and there are some other dislikes. I think there are lot of pros and cons of suunto watch. Since i don’t have any other brand watch myself, i am not able to judge quality or feature reliability because i didn’t try any other. Will i buy another Suuntoin future? I have my S5 just little over two years. I hope it will work for 2-3 next years. And than i will really think about it and read lot of reviews before i decide. I hope that suunto will provide in future many more reliable watches, still made in finlad, in same quality like Ambit watch was.

@altcmd said in Altimeter and compass calibrations: Brad_Olwin 20-30m variation at 250m altitude might be ok, but at near sea level, I am getting anywhere between -12 to +70 for similar locations. That’s a pretty wild variation given the base. And much of this calibration is not during activity - it’s from the normal watch mode and I don’t understand why the SV cannot get this right or about right? Again, my reference is Suunto’s competition and almost all of them have this going somewhat right but Suunto is in a league of its own making. Small frustrations, but these are adding up. I only run on flat ground, but I never get the similar altitude, the difference can up to 50%

@matus69 deactivate auto DND and activate it manually (auto DND is related to sleep times and to be found in sleep widget settings)
