ETA is calculated by your current speed. Assuming that you maintain that speed until the end of the route. It does not take the route ahead into the calculation because of the many unpredictable factors.

I’ve contacted Customer Support and will now send the watch to repair. Let’s see how it goes. These hardware issues are very frustrating

@vinc14 A ski touring route is nothing more than a rough sketch that takes into account the destination and available terrain. Deviations from the route are normal, as the best way to ascend or descend is constantly being re-evaluated based on required effort, perceived risk and reward. What may work for biking or running (staying on a predetermined route) cannot possibly work for real ski touring, and when it does, it is the exception rather than the rule. For example, a flank may not be traversable due to unstable stratification, and the detour over the ridge must be taken. The tour I did yesterday was a prime example of this: avoiding avalanches on sun-exposed slopes as temperature has increased the last few days and chasing remaining powder on the northern slopes. In addition, there were several ascents and descents that made it impossible for the watch to track the route and remaining distance/altitude difference. Your idea of using the location and elevation of the end point to show the ascent and distance remaining simply does not work under these conditions. In such situations, you need to know the most important points along your route, their altitude and distance. Also, you should bring the official topographic maps to aid in navigation. Your watch can help you with your current altitude. It is up to you to do the math or do the estimates based on the terrain. The only alternative I see is using POIs to navigate. Bute a data field that displays the elevation remaining to the POI or as part of a bearing navigation display is unfortunaly not available, AFAIK.

@thanasis The S+ screen will show a pointer and green if you are in the zone for the interval. Red if you are outside the zone. I find this quite helpful. However you are correct. For me, I would rather not have a buzz or other notification and I realize this is highly personal. For my intervals I always am running and typically use power, which can fluctuate. The buzz or sound would just distract me as I often use RPE to gauge effort and glance at the pointer to ensure I am somewhere in the correct zone. the missing feature is a lap counter!

I’ve discovered that when general watch brightness is set on high it makes raise to wake low screen is brighter than general brightness low & raise to wake low. Just a bit but enough for me! Didn’t know that its affect each other. I thought that general brightness affect normal use only. Now raise to wake is perfect for me, but when surf menu, checking stats its too bright Maybe this info will help someone.

@surfboomerang quick update. The activity sync does work if the phone is in Bluetooth reach when the activity is stopped and saved. If I end the activity without the phone in reach, the sync doesn’t happen automatically once there phone is in reach. The only way to sync the activity is to open the Suunto app.

@thanasis only if the activity has not been stopped in the meantime. The TO wants to go back the next day. But this has been discussed like years ago already.

@pcosm I find 10% per day way too much - with 24/7 HR, notifications, sleep on and 12+ hours of GPS per week I have long-time average around 6,5%/d.

After the last repair that took a month, they sent me the watch, supposedly repaired, 5 days later the same behavior, I sent it back to the repair center, and again the same stories, it’s been almost 3 weeks, apologizing that they are in high demand for repairs… it’s a shame, I’m tired of waiting !!! @Egika hätte Suunto mal lieber auf die 3.1.0 für public warten sollen, wenn man sich die App Store Bewertungen so anguckt… vermeidbarer Ärger…

Thank you for your feedback. Having seen the rumors, I don’t really want to buy a vertical V1 if the V2 comes out in a few weeks. (like at the UTMB??) It’s not easy. Especially since they will certainly have updated the heart sensor for example. The current features are perfect for my use. Running, trail to but especially the itinerant hike for which I have need for reliability, latency-free mapping and possibly solar charging. I don’t know if titanium brings much apart from comfort if you wear the watch at night. And finally the MiP screen! I hate the amoled on my Fenix 8. I feel like I have a black brick on my wrist.

I think its a matter of all the personal data entered in the watch. For example, I’ve done recently an hiking activity: 32[km], almost 8[h] duration, 2000[m] ascent, avg. heart rate 93[bpm] by HR belt, 2960[kcal]. 2960[kcal] are maybe too much? Maybe, but I was really (not) feeling them in my body!

i think the notifications background color should follow back your watch face background, i.e. dark or white. standardize the color should be good according to your watch face background color.

@MiniForklift 100%. as i replace my garmin i was used showing basic information on top of the map (for me it was pace and HR, but of course other fields make sense). so adding the possibility to overlay 1-2 fields over the map would be highly appreciated. otherwise > best map on a watch I’ve ever seen.

This issue has not been fixed until now as I have recently expecienced with charging my SV with 7% - 1 hour later one map (which I forgot I set for download ages ago) got downloaded and the battery was as low as at 6%… You have to disconnect and connect the cable once again to start charging the watch - this is pain in guess where… Any idea is this is getting fixed in the upcoming update?
