@Raimo-Järvi Thanks, I kind of figured that but just wanted a confirmation.

@surfboomerang I don’t think firmware update or SuuntoPlus app update should reset SuuntoPlus app configuration, at least in Suunto Vertical or Suunto Race. If I remember correctly, SuuntoPlus app data is stored in eMMC that is not erased in firmware update. But Suunto 9 Peak Pro might be different as it doesn’t have eMMC, therefore SuuntoPlus app configuration is probably reset in firmware update. Uninstalling SuuntoPlus app from watch will reset configuration, I think that’s by design.

Thanks @isazi! Then I understand that S+ apps have a persistent space in memory that can be written/read over the different activites. Super!

@sartoric This. And that ICE info sometimes resets to “–”. Not sure if this after a firmware update, S+ update or just randomly.

The same thing happens to me, inconsistencies everywhere. The live data from the watch never matches what is later indicated in the app. When it is indicated, of course, because sometimes that data appears and other times it doesn’t. I have uninstalled, re-installed, reset, etc. and everything remains the same. I still don’t know how I haven’t given up on the effort… it seems I’m a masochist.

For ZoneSense algo to measure thresholds, you’ll need to spend time around the intensities that are close to what your thresholds might be. It’s normal you don’t get them measured on every single run. Over time you’ll get a good sense where your thresholds are and set zones 3 and 5 accordingly. 5 zone schema is less relevant with ZS, ZoneSense is all about a 3 zone schema. One other alternative is to a step test, warmup and do from 5 to 7 blocks of 5 mins with 1 min recovery in between each one. Go from easy pace to almost full out for the last one, a running track is preferred, but again this is not needed but it’s a good protocol to follow if you’re not really sure what your training zones are.

@2b2bff Agreed, but ZoneSense redefines training logic and enhances the understanding of various applications related to HRV. In a sense, this is true, but this video series focuses on the new approach that ZoneSense introduces to training from the ground up. At least, that’s how I understood it—I may be wrong, as I’m not an expert in this field.

Yes, please. Polar does it this way and I actually miss it. But it would be great if it worked for the selected intensity metric, not only for heart rate.

Hopefully the "Run Companion, Run nutrition or Gym apps will be compatible with S9 with future updates. I don’t see why they can’t be. I think these apps are guides created from an app with a configurable “note”, right? This can now be done with any Guide builder (with the fields that each platform has decided to make clear). I find it more complex for old watches to have included Gohst runner, last Km, Burner,… since they are new calculations that the watches have to make.

@ultravox customization is not supported in the apps at the moment (meaning, the data fields are selected at compile time, not runtime)

@Danny-poleg As far as I remember after completing the first lap you should mark this lap with a button (lap button on your watch), afterwards it will be done automatically. I’ve never used this feature I think I read it in user guide.

Thank you for the suggestion. Unfortunately it’s currently not possible to control sound pitch from SuuntoPlus sports app, but we will keep this in mind for the future.

@Likarnik said in S+ Vertical Race: Yesterday I used this app to test my performance on a vertical km. I was just a little confused while running, how do you suppose to know how much ahead of your goal are you? If you are behind it shows distance, for example 0.03km behind. Sometimes there is empty place (right on time?). And if you are ahead it shows NGP. At least this is how I interpreted the data. For me it would be more useful if there is time (20s ahead/behind) in top left corner. When I saw NGP I assumed that I am ahead of my PR, but did not know for how much. Am I using this right? Anyone else tested this app, what do you think? Nevertheless I beat my previous PR on that course by over 4min, so all good I tested it on saturday on a short vertical race (1km w/ 150m+), I started way too fast and was just trying to survive 'til the top after that. I gave a few look at the watch/app but was too “into it” to fully grasp or analyze what was displayed

Plus 1 from me on this one. The drink alerts are super-easy to just turn on rather than having to setup but the default “200ml” is meaningless and the sum total hydration is consequently useless. My ‘slurps’ are much closer to 20ml

It sounds like you’re proposing a really exciting integration between the Form goggles and your Suunto watch for open water swimming (OWS). The swimming goggles, similar to Engo for running[ Here, you can see what swimming goggles actually look like. https://www.mazuzee.com/index.php?route=product/category&path=436, offer a game-changing way to view crucial sports-specific data while swimming, particularly with the added heart rate (HR) sensor in version two. Your idea for the S+ app aligns perfectly with existing integrations for other brands, enabling real-time data sharing over Bluetooth during swims and convenient post-swim data transfer via API. The bonus feature of a pool mode is particularly intriguing, as it could allow Suunto users to enhance their training sessions by displaying upcoming sets directly on the watch. It’s great to hear you’ve already reached out to Form about this potential collaboration—hopefully, they can see the value in supporting the Suunto community!
