Another sleepless night with firmware update bright screen at 02:30! When is this going to end?
-
But I am asking again for you
-
You are right! this happens before the automatic update. I notified the team.
-
@Dimitrios-Kanellopoulos what are you talking about?!?
It’s the watch that wakes me up! I cannot understand how seemingly nobody understands my point.I just opened the Suunto App tonight to send you my log files.
I am NOT talking about the App - I am talking about the stupid watch that wakes me in the middle of the night every single time you push any firmware update.
-
@Egika you are lucky or do something else. EVERY time my Race got an update in the past year, it woke me up in the middle of the night. Always.
-
@Stefano-M64 how funny. Really funny. I am not stupid… The point auf Auto DND every night is simply to NOT - NEVER get disturbed.
If I had to switch off BT every night by hand, to avoid a once-every-few-months event, I would throw this unit into the bin.
I want to not get disturbed when I use the Auto DND feature without any manual work. -
@Olaf-Gottschalk
Olaf, hello, we agree on the DO NOT DISTURB time preference. As a suggestion, I suggest you check the app in the device section, 3 points, about…AUTOMATIC UPDATES and cancel the option.
Could solve the inconvenient night message… -
@Olaf-Gottschalk Maybe nobody so-called understands your point, because when you post on this forum, you’re not addressing your watch — you’re speaking to human beings who deserve respect. Aggressive and disjointed messages that conflate a minor sleep disruption every few months with a full-scale outburst toward whoever interact with you are unlikely to inspire assistance or meaningful dialogue. Just sayin’.

@Ghost gee, what the heck is wrong with you? I don’t let anybody wake me up by buggy software every 3 months or so and get ignored.
I never treat anybody bad how treats me with respect.

Your are the first one to point out I can disable this “feature” to wake me for updates.
Done and hopefully this solves my problem!
Thank you!!! -
@sartoric you’re right. The first answer I saw was that I actively clicked something… Of course, being tired all day, this made me angry. How can something so easy that a watch on DND should never go fully on at night be something that could be misunderstanding.
By the way: I recently received the first answer in dozens of attempts to get help from this annoyance… There is a toggle hidden in “about your decice” on the App that disables automatic updates… That was a really helpful and much appreciated, respectful answer.
Getting told I should shut up and why I even bother getting woken up every few months … Those are not really helpful…
That said, I do hope that at some point a programmer responsible for the little bit of firmware code that starts the question mid-night realizes they shouldn’t do that…
I would very much appreciate an info right after the DND time that there is an update…

@Olaf-Gottschalk You didn’t already disable these? So all this repeated ranting was because you didn’t use the correct settings?

Maybe Iam a bit offtop, but i never seen on my watch anything like this on my Vertical. To know if there’s update i need to check forum/Suunto App, or just check if my watch got downloaded update (in options). Never seen on my watch face reminder that there’s new update and I can install or try later. Maybe its only in Race or I turned something off?
Anyway yeah, it could be a bit frustrate to Olaf that it reminds even on ,do not disturb". -

Lol. What a great show of disrespect is that?
This is the default setting in a place you would never search.
Don’t blame me for stupid UX design and programmers that don’t obey DND mode… Sigh -
@Tami999 I am not sure whether it’s your device or whether it is this setting about automated updates that you find under the overflow menu’s “About the device…” See if you have a toggle there and whether it is on.
But from my experience: don’t turn it on…
I really do hope this fixes my sleep when Suunto rolls out firmware releases… -

Yeah sure. Moderators should kick you out.

@Olaf-Gottschalk They’d be better off closing that thread — it might give us all a much-needed break from your attitude.
-
@Olaf-Gottschalk Hi, I’ve been reading this forum for a while now, and you are by far the most arrogant and unpleasant writer. You are aggressive and always whining and then you wonder why nobody wants to help you. I have never read anything positive from you, which is bit strange considering this is a forum for sportwatches, not an offical feedback chanel.
And yes, I get that you have problems with your watch, and I’m sorry that causes you harm. We all would like have things going our way, but that is not always the case. But if a notification causes you that much trouble and emonational stress I highly suggest that you put your watch in to a drawer and go out for a walk. A device, even a faulty one, should not have such an impact on anyone.
Best of luck to your future troubles

@Ghost ok. What attitude are you talking about?
That I don’t like to get woken up by a piece of software with a bug?
The only completely valid answer was by someone mentioning that there actually IS a switch that might help.Even that got ridiculed by some freaks that seem to imply that I have deliberately switched it on, which I have not.
Respect means: hey, here is someone who got woken up by firmware updates at least 4 times already, has been looking for help and all he got was disrespectful answers and no help?
Yeah. I like your attitude. Not.
