Does someone know how that Tide Widget looks like? I’d love to see and wish it for all the other models 🙂

            Thanks Suunto👍
            Freediving mode still not customized.
Suunto Heart Rate belt doesn’t work with freediving mode, but works with scuba diving mode.
No log in freediving, only can see total dives.

I’m also one of the users who has been waiting for real progress in freediving features on Suunto Ocean — especially for DYN, DYNB, STA and other pool disciplines.

Many of us were hoping that the recent updates would finally bring improvements to freediving training, because Ocean has great hardware potential. I really hope Suunto continues developing this part of the watch, as the freediving community is growing and needs proper tools.

                Hi All

It seems that the watch face issue has now been solved. I was able to install various faces now.

Thank you @dimitrios-kanellopoulos for reporting this to Suunto.

                Kind Regards
                Reino

@Stefan1 We do miss this update regarding freediving — I bought it as a freediving watch, since that’s also how it was advertised, and it will soon be 2 years since I got it and it hasn’t improved much…

Now we’ll have to wait another 6/10 months for the next update and hope for the best.

                    Hi everyone,

It seems that this update turned out to be more substantial and stable than the previous one. That’s definitely a good thing. However, it also seems that there are still some basic things that should already have been addressed. A few examples: the alarm function is outdated. The swimming drill function is still missing. For a dive watch, it is perfectly reasonable — and not an exaggeration at all — to expect it to be among the best when it comes to classic water sports features.

Even the Ambit 3 already had a basic but well-functioning swim drill feature. As for the diving side, there are clearly more advanced users involved, so I won’t pretend to know better there, but it is obvious that satisfaction is still not complete.

As a user, here is my humble suggestion: release the above-mentioned and other reasonable updates raised by users within a shorter timeframe, ideally together with any necessary bug fixes related to new features. It seems there has finally been meaningful progress toward better precision and accuracy. As users, it’s important to acknowledge that — it improves overall satisfaction.

At the same time, this progress can easily be undermined if the feature gap starts widening again and the backlog keeps growing. The Ocean has still not fully regained the flagship position it deserves — but its price suggested the premium category. Right now, it rather seems to be catching up. With more regular and scheduled updates, I hope that can change.

I think every user understands and accepts a more cautious update process due to safety validation requirements. In fact, it is reassuring to see that the manufacturer takes diving features seriously. However, this cannot become a reason for the watch to age prematurely, especially since the hardware clearly still has a lot of untapped potential.

So please — and I believe I can say this on behalf of many users — keep this new momentum going, Suunto team! We truly appreciate it. But please do not repeat the previous mistake of leaving this excellent model without proper attention for too long, despite its huge unrealized potential.

Because there is still a gap — the disadvantage has only been reduced.

Thanks in advance, and we are rooting for the Suunto team (says an enthusiastic user who still believes in this brand).

                      Hi everyone,
I placed my Suunto Ocean on the charging dock earlier today, and since then, it has been completely stuck on a screen that says: “The device is being restored to a safe state”.
Since I’ve been using the exact same wall outlet, cable, and adapter setup for the past two years without any issues, I think I can rule out a hardware or power supply fault. My guess is that this might be related to today’s software update.
Has anyone else encountered this issue or managed to find a workaround?
Note: I’ve already tried a soft reset, but unfortunately, it didn’t change anything or clear the screen.
Thanks in advance for any help or advice!!

@prakalejas Yeah also disappointed that the new maps update and swim features were not included in this update of Ocean. I remember on the slides of the updates from & April, it said coming to Ocean, but when we will get this, we can only hope Suunto starts treating the Ocean with the same urgency as the rest of the lineup.

I understand your disappointment — I feel the same way.
It’s a bit surprising that the latest update didn’t bring the new map features or the swimming improvements to the Suunto Ocean.

Back in April, Suunto mentioned upcoming updates for the Ocean in their roadmap, so I was hoping this release would include at least some of those features.
Since the Ocean has 32 GB of storage, an AMOLED display and dual‑band GNSS, it seems fully capable from a hardware perspective.

I’m really hoping Suunto will give the Ocean the same long‑term attention as the rest of the lineup.
If anyone from Suunto can comment on whether offline maps and the new navigation tools are planned for the Ocean, it would be greatly appreciated.

What are the differences in freediving after updating to 2.51.28?
I went for freediving after the update but couldn’t find any change at all.
Is the “Customization of switch window and arches for dive modes” concerning scuba or freediving?

It seems I’m a bit late to the party!

I have to say, I’m really happy that diving got some attention in this update! I was loosing hope a bit after waiting so long for the last update, only to discover it came with zero dive features… for a dive watch.

The “Tide widget” looks really cool though I’m just getting times for “United Kingdom” which is about 45 mins out from my local beach. So it’s not that accurate. It would be great if the accuracy could be improved in a future version to “local town”. Or allow you to lookup manually.

“Customisation of switch window and arches for dive modes” - Doesn’t seem to do anything we didn’t already have unless I’m mistaken? The switch window could be cycled with the bottom button so does this just set the one it starts on? Also we could choose which arches we wanted in the app so I guess it’s good to have that on the watch but it’s nothing new. I’d still really love to have different customisable faces for dive screens. That would be awesome!

I haven’t had chance to check out the “dynamic depth graph” so I’m looking forward to that.

“Support for new dive watch face” - I can’t seem to find this? Unless it’s just the “Ocean”? Which one is it?

“Water type setting for scuba diving” - Useful. Though the default seems to be “EN13319”… what type of water is that? 😅

Good to see some bugs getting fixed too.

Overall though great to see and actual dive update. Please keep it up! I’d love to see customisable dive screens and a better dive planner.

Ok, so it’s been a few days since update, some feedback:

                              BUGS:

snooze alarm, wake up, wait for sleep summary to show and then dismiss alarm - somehow it freezes even longer than before 😞 So this one is definately not fixed.

watch shows notification and vibrates of incoming call, even if you answer the call.

logbook shrunkened, lost dives and activities over ~1 month old.

battery usage increased slightly (~1-3%/day) - guess this is the price of better menu performance.

Just noticed this too! Hoping it is a bug as that’s not good imo.

                                      Hi!

I’ve been having a problem since the firmware update.

It updated automatically on its own last week. On Saturday, I went diving, and as I started my first dive, the watch restarted on its own!

After that, a message appeared saying something like “algorithm calculation error” along with a red warning icon—it wasn’t a lockout warning.

I used it on the next dive with the same warning. In the afternoon, I restarted it from the menu, and on Sunday while diving, the red error warning popped up again. The icon looked like this:

                                      55d7204b-08ec-4d06-8347-80ebfd0905be-image.png

It kept giving me readings throughout the dive (deco time, etc.). I think the Tank POD’s battery is low, because the pressure would appear and disappear, and I also noticed that the altitude wasn’t correct—on land, it told me I was at -X meters.

What could have been the problem, and what can I do? Has anything like this ever happened to you?

                                      Thanks!
