I didn’t find anything that I could do except not stopping my ride for a coffee break…
But - this one is interesting: while going through the menus just a few hours before and without having read your message, I stumbled across Airplane mode being on. Didn’t remember that I ever set it on, especially because everything worked like it should, BT being on and such.
What does that mode even do if it does not disable BT?
Switched it off now.
But the main issue is: I would need a longer ride with coffee break to investigate further, but my holidays are now over and I am back in the cold…

You stated in a post before that when disconnected, power should show “–” and not 0…
Well, that is actually not true.Tested it with my Kickr Bike! While connected and doing a workout, I stopped cycling and unplugged the bike and took off my heart rate strap.
Well, the HR showed “–” like you described, but power happily just shows 0 even though there definitely is no power meter online anymore.
So, something is off here or at least not like you expected.

@Dimitrios-Kanellopoulos hi, another one today. My SV showed 0W after a break. I put my phone in airplane mode, but no luck. It’s strange because it happened when riding with a friend, and when this happens it’s always him around
so I accused him of stealing my signal, so he stopped ride on his garmin headunit and put it in sleep mode and my phone was in airplane mode as stated. Power was still 0w. I could connect to pedals with Assioma app. Then I stopped ride and when starting it again, pedals were connected without issues. So if I understand this correctly, this should not be possible if BT was connected to some other device? Also this never happened before multi sensor firmware update. And resume later or reconnecting mid ride would be a great bypass for this problem… -
@Likarnik I am almost happy to hear that I am not the only one with this problem. @Dimitrios-Kanellopoulos what are the news about this bug and any fixes…?

I am convinced it is a bug in Suunto’s BT algorithm combined with how some sensors enter a sleep mode or something like this. For my HR sensor (Wahoo) it never had an issue like my Wahoo SpeedPlay power pedals have. But yes, I can see the exact same problem happening with any kind of sensor.
Suunto’s BT software is kind of unforgiving once it loses connection. Will never return, never recover, and does not give the user a feedback and option to reconnect in the session. That is the problem.
Plus: it was NOT an issue prior to Suunto changing the complete BT stack!

Hey guys it happened to me a while ago and I found an easy solution that doesn’t require stopping current activity.
After power meter disconnects, go to activity menu (long press bottom button) then go to battery mode and switch to Tour mode. This disables Bluetooth on watch. Wait for a moment, then switch it back to Performance or any other profile. That will reenable watch Blueatooth again and the watch reconnects with power meter

I don’t have a power meter to test, but if this works, it is a genius workaround! 🤯

I’m having a similar problem with a Suunto 9 Peak Pro and a 4iiii crank power meter. Mine drops out continuously and comes back on its own after a couple of seconds. Dropouts are very sporadic and happen through the whole duration of rides.
I’ve tried replacing the power meter battery, and a factory reset through the 4iiii mobile app. What I haven’t yet tried is a hard reset of the power meter.
All the devices have had their FW updated to the latest versions.
Will try the hard reset and report back. -
