Suunto 9 Peak
-
@chrisc92
Suunto does already collaborate with Trainingspeaks… maybe, and that’s just my very personal guess (!), structured workouts might come eventually.
Suunto has managed to surprise me some times -
@chrisc92
It has been said some times ago that it should come through S+ feature and TrainingPeaks partnership.
One is there, the other might come (or not, no insight from my side ) -
@дима-мельниченко true, the Peak has it but the Baro not so much. Hopefully in June maybe. Oh structured workouts as implemented on garmin would be grand as well
-
@adam_warburton I hope not only a TP partnership, but also SA. For bike I had to buy an “edge” competitor’s device because it’s not possible to have serious interval training with a suunto watch and manipulate LAP buttons on a bike, particularly with short sprint reps . For structured workouts I plan also to buy an additionnal used “forerunner” device because it’s becoming a boring job. Just grab a workout from TP or your own library, and then go out run and bips. If you own a pod, pace and distances on track are accurate.

Any info if there will be S9P 50mm?
-
@kiriakos-chaldezos it has not been announced.

10 more days before shipping…
-
Will the snap to route feature work on a standard track?
-
@tyresej4 By standard track you mean without a preloaded route? That is not possible of I understand the feature correct.
It seems logical that the watch can only snap to loaded routes because it lacks map feature so it has no clue where to snap onto if you don’t load a route.
-
Des the 9 Peak have an off button to turn off the watch when not in use? I’ve convinced
myself that I read somewhere you can only turn off the hr etc. but not the watch itself. Thanks and apologies if the question is dumb (it’s my first Suunto watch). -
@iowboy does not have a button but a settings toggle. Once selected then the watch powers off
-
It seems that the peak is selling pretty good. Now it will be sent out on june 24.
-
@richard-thygesen and the titanium blue is available again for pre-order.
-
Does it mean that it will not be sent 17th for those who ordered earlier?
-
@kajetan-august US still says 17th on orders.
-
@kajetan-august I would believe the first batch is good to go on the 17th, but people ordering now will have their Peaks shipped a week later.
-
@surfboomerang Just FYI, the snap to route feature does work on a standard track! You have to change the map style from Satellite to Outdoor. When changed to Outdoor the route editor allows you to create a route on the trail around the track. It’s actually kind of cool. Thought I’d put this out there for anyone else who may interested in that.

Eager to receive my S9P
Not yet the watch and already a FW update -
@tyresej4 sorry, can’t follow - I think my English is not good enough to understand the specifics of route, trail and track.
My understanding is, the snap to route feature is snapping the position to its closest point of the route (aka track) in the watch.
You just need to have a route pre-loaded into the watch. What influence does the route editor in SA have on this watch feature?
