@дима-мельниченко I’ve run a couple of half marathons. Every second day 10 to 15kms and on all these runs fenix is 800m to 1km shorter. And the pace…. Well I was pushing hard in zone 4 Suunto tells me 3:45 pace and it fills like I am at my limits and the fenix tells me 7:30…. Wtf. It must be because I moved the hand to check the watch and stopped the accelerometer. Than on my recovery sector of the same run Suunto shows me 5:30 an it feels correct cause I know my performance but fenix decides to finally catch up due to the previous lag and shows 4:10.

@hristijan-petreski can confirm this. Although I am a slow runner (much slower than you ) the Fenix 6 pro especially in the beginning of a run showed me weird numbers like 11:30 when I was actually running much faster (somewhere between 7:xx or: 6:xx). Raising my arm 5 seconds later it showed 9:xx or 10:xx, then settled for the real pace and kept it mostly, but I never had this on any other watch…

@hristijan-petreski oh, just mention the distance, bad pace estimate is probably indeed annoying. Tbh I never bothered to check how well s9 goes against route length predicted afterwards, but to me an error below 10% from GPS watch on a wobbly hand not in perfect satellite reception conditions is totally acceptable. Of course it’s good to know that the watch does so well. Concerning pace: I notice that s9 normally overshoots estimates a little bit, but I can only say so about walking/hiking - maybe 7-8kmh is not enough to obtain the best precision.

I was not so pleased with the s9P. It was okish. I had better results with s9b.

It’s not so bad but I would have expected better because the rest of the test such as running and cycling etc were top notch. Am I expecting too much ? Idk.

Next time I’ll bring my s9B for swimking to be able to compare.

@thanasis I have been using Suunto watches since 1998. I have also tried numerous Garmin watches, Polar, Apple Watch and a couple other smart watches. I will respond to the consumer needs obviously from my point of view. There are a few features I would like to see Suunto adopt but they are fairly specialized. Suunto’s watches are far more robust for hardware and firmware than any brand I have tried. I depend on my watch to work. No other brand comes close (Polar hardware is good too). For features and firmware, Suunto’s navigation is far better than any other. For me navigation features are my #1 priority. I always thought maps on a watch were useless, and I would argue they are not that useful. However, the Suunto 7 is a demonstration of how maps can be done right. So, I disagree with you and rather than considering the brand “Premium” I consider the brand Robust, for longevity and for use.

@дима-мельниченко I was gifted the 6x by my sis cause she has fenix 5 and also I needed the running metrics at the time. I am not saying it does not have good metrics too especially taken from their belt. But always when we hiked 20 to 26km routes from Komoot her fenix 5 would show distance 1km more than the route (as my S9 due to the pauses we took walking here and there to photo) and my f6x was always 2km to 4km short. I have no idea why.

I agree with you, wobbly hand is a difficult problem.
When my suunto 9 is attached on the bike the tracks are really near perfection .
On the other hand suunto has a strong experience in fused track and should take into account the accelerometer and compass to filter GPS temporary loss like when you are under trees . A sort of permanent fused track

for the peak I don’t know. for my S9B I’ve ordered from an “alternative” supplier because orange was not available at Suunto…

I have all bells and whistles enabled on peak, backlight medium raise on wake and training 9-10h a week with performance gps, battery needs recharging after 5-6 days. I wonder what would happen if I send S9b for battery service. That 3 yr old eats battery in 2 and a half days with same workload.

Fiiiiiiine - dropped by REI on the way home and they hade one so now I have one

This thing feels tiny compared to the 9B but I am excited to try it out. Buttons are good, like a Polar but crispier for sure.

First started it I got a SERVICE! message, which was a little scary but went away after the standard 12s top button hold. Screen looks awesome, watch face is pretty cool.

Few annoyances that have absolutely nothing to do with the hardware of this watch.

Can we please save sport mode settings in the cloud? I am really not looking forward to recreating all my custom modes
Can we address zombie notifications at some point
Can we sync fitness/daily stats back across different devices?

@dulko79 Tested this quickly the other day. OHR seams really good on swim also

On this really small and covered lake the location of the track did not “peaked”. This is understandable because my swim technique was not good (hand below water level mostly).

Office acceptance test validated : the 9peak fits well under a shirt and is much less thinner than s9 baro

[edit] I didn’t see before this two painting defects on the wrist support. I will have to return.

One question/remark about the VO2MAX estimation providen by the watch. As we all know, that estimation is always very bad once we run on trails or with a lot of elevation.

One solution would be to:

either not calculate vo2max once watch detect too hilly or too technical paths
either let user decide if we want or not an estimation during the following activity.

@v-sacre just make it a switch similarly to how OHR switch is implemented. “Calculate vo2max” on/off, per activity.
