And Suunto does it again: mid-activity crash on Suunto Race
-
@Olaf-Gottschalk I do not know if this is at all helpful but my experience with the Vertical was same as yours crash after crash. Even the replacement had the same. Got the Race (after no crash experience for a year with the FR965) and it was perfect - except on this one long run that I had snap to route but the GPS drift was so bad that the track at the end and all the notifications off track on track were pretty bad - resolved it with Hard reset.
And I also have the Ocean…. Not a single issue since day one: not a single crash, not a single GPS drift… stable like tank! -
Just checked SA, I have 422 activity record this year, walking, cycling and yoga mainly. No crashing.
I’d think 10 could possibly be something wrong with that particular watch.
-
My watch (SV) sometimes crashes during activity. Several times a year. Always on the map screen.
-
@Olaf-Gottschalk Same here today I just had another crash mid activity …
Since I had the watch I think I have had 5 crashes also on different firmwares… -
@wakarimasen since I had the watch I’m at 5 crashes so far every time I sent te logs to suunto. Today was just during a training, I was 1h30 in) but last time it was when I was running the Lee trail when I was already running for 3h… thank god then I noticed it quite quickly…

Out of curiosity, what screen did this happen to you on? I’ve had several such restarts, always on the map screen.
-
@maszop my only restart, yet happened on the ZoneSense screen or on the first screen of the buit-in basic profile.

When I was running the Lee trail it was on the maps screen. But this weekend when it happend I didn’t use a map it was just on normal screen for running.

@Olaf-Gottschalk hearing too much ch about crashes lately
-
Second crash today in about 1 year with the Race S. Crashes in the last 20 years with Garmin FR201, FR910xt, Huawei watch, Ambit3, Suunto5 and Suunto9P: Zero!
I don’t get that we are discussing about how many crashes per year are normal given this relation.
