Suunto Vertical: Bug Collection
-
Hello!
Since updating my Suunto Vertical to the latest version, I have noticed the following issues:-
The Wi-Fi menu stays permanently set to “Off” (as shown in the photo).
-
On the new watch faces, especially the Athletics watch face, the data remains frozen and does not update throughout the day. For example, if I set the energy level complication in the bottom left corner, it stays at the same level. The only way to update it is to reset the watch or start an activity.
I have read that many others are experiencing the same issues. Is there a solution, or do I have to wait for the next update (in about three months)?

@Artus-Diver Hello Artus, i have the same issue. did you solved your problem by going back to the previous firmware?
-
Since some days I don’t get any messages (whatsapp and Snapchat) on my watch. I did a softreset, hardreset. All the trouble shooting from their website. I reïnstalled the suunto app on my phone (Samsung S23). I have the latest updates on my phone, app and watch.
But it doesnt work… What can I do? -

After the second factory reset and no results, I sent the watch to Suunto Service.
The service probably performed a hardware reset and it improved a bit, now I can swim with this watch.
There is still a problem with recognizing swimming styles. The update did not include style detection, but a lot has changed.
My friends have the same feeling.
I swim repetitively and it recognized styles more easily on the previous algorithm. The current one is very wrong.
In my opinion, the best solution would be to implement the “learning swimming style” algorithm from Suunto Ambit 3 PEAK and everyone would be happy. -
@fedequei Anyone else experiencing the same issue? Do you know when the new firmware will be released?
-
the same issue on suunto vertical (last firmware update)
-
@fedequei My WiFi menu shows Automatic no matter if it is enabled or disabled. If I put the watch in Airplane Mode it then shows off.
I do not see the issue with the Athletics watch face it updates through out the day even f I have the watch resting on the table.

@larrybbaker same problem on my SV, decided to delay my update from a bad previous updates experiences and here we go again, WiFi does not work and for some reason my Suunto apps starts saving batteries and watch does not get for example weather updates, I need to reopen suunto app manually every now again.
I feel more like a Suunto firmware tester, not a user.
After hours i decided to perform hard reset, no more option to turn on/ off as it says automatically even when toggle switch is there. So far all is ok apart from the configuration I have to perform now custom watch faces etc… bad experience -
I’ve reported this topic before but the GPS accuracy of the SV needs to improved. Recently ran the CPH marathon and did manual splits on the kilometer marker signs. You can see from these images just how much the extra distance SV reports affects the pace the watch shows in a race situation. I know now by heart no to trust my pace and just run about 6 seconds faster to reach my target pace, but still, it is very annoying. Overall distance ended up being 42.95km, which is way more than my friends with Garmins had on the same course. (I did perfect cornering, I know how to corner.)
Other topic is that the SA still shows avg HR wrong when viewing automatic splits. True avg HR can be seen from manual splits and you can see where the problem is if you take a look at the second picture…

In my opinion the accuracy you reported is great. Very constant and likely you don’t have the perfect line available in the race. For your usecase the snap to route function should help to control your pace better during the race
Regarding the HR: Thats really strange and I think it happens in other situations too. Must be a bug in the AppEdit: Also I thin that Suunto counts 3D distance and some other 2D. Should not make a big difference during a marathon, but still…
