@jussim agree, scenarios that we shouldn’t have to experience at this price.

@larrybbaker I wasn’t clear. My bad. This is where I wish we had a caret to collapse the thing out of sight. [image: 1727513662531-screenshot_20240928-035230.png]

Ok thanks, though it would be nice to have, I’ll just forcefully close suunto app to not have any notification during activity.

@Haitz Sure. Just to clarify, everything that can be customized by the app is something that is already available in the watch

@adamreah OHR does not work well for me. Walking or running downhill my HR maxes out. I use the belt most of the time. I also think the OHR will not work well for HR interval training.

@sartoric massive!!! im not the only one tranditional guy hahaha…with breadcrumb and poi you dont need a compass indeed…but when you need to modify the route from a destroyed path from physical conditions and the cellphone has no singnal and you have paper map for (back up and emergency situations), during the exerscise it would be very useful this tool feature…mainly in deep forest with very tall trees you have no visibility for a refence point…!! -sorry for my english are very bad like garmin watches !!! -analog compass is always the best solution! but i have it also in the watch and is very easy/fast/reliable to use …(but not in exercise mode) thanks again!

@tomahawk5000 true. The sensor on the S9 is quite expensive on the battery, more than Bluetooth.

@sartoric I am just missing that 5 min (or maybe it was 10 min) graph. But I created a special sports mode to deal with it @lexterm77 I am charging my watch to 80-85 % max all the time. Would be nice to have this option automatically implemented, but it’s not so hard to keep an eye on your watch from time to time and stop the charging when it’s above 80 Anyway, daily HR from the belt would come handy in many occasions. For example, after finishing the exercises. I have my S9 often mounted on my bike or I’m wearing it on top of my jacket sleeve not touching the skin. When I stop activity recording, watch soon switches to optical HR and records nonsense if I forget to put it immediately to my wrist. In many cases I’m still wearing the belt while stretching or cleaning my bike afterwards anyway. So why not to use it?

@Dimitrios-Kanellopoulos I sometimes find HR interesting but spot on regarding steps. Would also disable sleep monitoring as I don’t use it

S9 will likely get another substantial FW update soon. Just go and get one, waiting for a successor will keep you always waiting and never getting anything…

Try to place the watch well over the wrist. Suunto’s HR readings seem to be very affected by that. I come from a Spartan WHRBaro and we’ve never been friends in relation to optical HR measurement. I remember once that I forgot the chest HR strap and has to rely on optical when I was just doing easy warm up at -supposedly- 192bpm… Now I have a Polar Vantage V and it reads HR properly with the watch where a watch should be places, not that over the wrist. 24hr HR reading is spot on. There must be some reason why I have such different experience with these two well-respected brands. The Vantage is smaller and lighter than the Suunto. So I guess that could be a key factor? Who knows… Give the different placement a shoot and see if that helps!
