@wmichi it seems to me it’s the backlight that washes thing out. It’s perhaps lack of contrast, Suunto might be able to improve slightly with an update by given the colours more saturation

@Brad_Olwin Thanks for this. I was scratching my head trying to figure out why I couldn’t control my media with Suunto Vertical and Iphone. The trick was to enable media controls in (I selected run and did a short exercise that I deleted after) activity. After this it works like it should in watch mode.

@dmytro said in Very wrong counting of the steps in s9b: @brad_olwin I don’t care either. However, I find this strategy curious at the slightest. I have a very specific programming experience, but from my perspective it shouldn’t be that time consuming to implement the same algo on all watches, given that libraries for sensors and device specific functions are most probably already written. So it might (!) be as easy as copy/paste. On thing is to say we don’t want to research this direction because it’s irrelevant, the other is to stubbornly ignore even it would barely cost any effort (once again, I might underestimate the effort needed). All in all, it’s suunto’s decision, not mine. 100% agree, I do not know why this is. I also do not understand the decision but it may have its roots in the hardware.

Sram gearing data, they only support ANT+ for external devices. We dont have ANT+ so I don’t know if the potentiometer will work with bluetooth

Snap to route is supposed to actually follow the planned route, even if it crosses itself. It is a little more than just snap to the closest point wherever you are. Your additional step to do whatever to the route with this tool - I would start looking here.

@soudabeh-shahrah try pushing the upper right button for about 12 seconds. If that doesn’t work, put the watch on the charger for a while and try again. Still nothing…then I suggest to contact Suunto support.

So dnd is and has been disabled all the time, but I did some more testing and it turns out it’s not only during night. It’s kind of intermittent and sometimes when it does light up it stays lit for only a second or so, instead of the standard few seconds. Any ideas?

@michaeldwilson Follow up: Suunto replaced by SB9 with a brand new one. I certainly appreciate their customer support and the support of their products. I’ve worn Suunto watches for running/GPS since the X9s way back in 2005 or so. I’ve always been pleased and even more so now.

@Brad_Olwin I was thinking about upgrading to Vertical or Race, but 9 Baro are still working perfectly fine so I will see in the summer, whether there is an improvement as well.

@Tomas5 This was one reason why i went with Wahoo sensors. The cadence can be very easily attached to a shoe. And i stopped using the speed sensor. It was quite useful on the MTB as the GPS signal is quite often blocked (trees, boulders, etc.), but on the road bike, the GPS speeds is good enough (and we don’t have enough tunnels here).

FWIW Courtney Dauwalter has an S9PP and a Vertical, she seems to regularly alternate between the two but for her recent races/wins such as UTMB she seems to be favouring her S9PP. Obviously seems to work well for her over massive distances in the mountains which should instill a fair amount of confidence for us mere mortals

@Dimitrios-Kanellopoulos When you load 15 sports apps on 9 Baro, it says memory full. That is the limit. But when you just disable - on the phone - some of them, not uninstall, they keep showing on the suunto app on the iphone, but not on the watch. Ok, now the thing: when you create an exercise, all the sports apps on suunto app on the phone are enabled. If you have a list of 20 sports apps, but only 12 enabled, all 20 get enabled then you get a memory full warning.

Yesterday I tried my son’s cheap and fairly old Garmin Forerunner 45 and it does it pretty well! Such a shame! This is something that should be addressed!

@MiniForklift I went a similar route with the Baro 9 < Peak 9 (loved the quicker charge over the Baro but missed the larger screen) < Vertical Solar. The Vertical has that robust feel of the Baro, the GPS lock is exceptionally faster, and it charges about 3 times quicker. I also appreciate the standardized lug of 22mm as it makes it much easier to find bands. I have been happy with it so far.

Dears, I just wanted to confirm that after longer observation period, it seems that hard reset solved this issue. Guides are being loaded to watch and removed from watch exactly as they are planned in the SA calendar.

@AndyG The total number of climbs in windy weather is absolutely absurd in Suunto watches. The newer it is, the worse it is. Probably the price for better accuracy in given places.
