@rogge doubt it would be due to magnetic interference, think the issue is more around fused tracking which takes a fix every 10s, which is fine when you are walking, potentially hiking depending on terrain (not sure how well it works if vertical climb is steep). However if you using a bike, I am not sure it works to well, as you can travel quite a distance in 10s so if you are varying speeds etc, i can see it giving issues. Try setting it to best (1s) and see how that does. Also note that what you are seeing isn’t necessarily unusual as GPS while fantastic accuracy is only up to 5m. Watch antenna’s are tiny and often not pointed in ideal directions, and fewer satellite fixes (ability to select and use multiple satellite systems can assist i.e I can use GPS+Gallileo or another system for example) - as coverage depends on hemisphere and region, and terrain features, cloud cover etc can all make that worse. While your blip (riding through the house) isn’t great is isn’t really that bad either. Your general track is correct, and would focus much more on that rather than precision accuracy which you are unlikely to get without using a device with a much better antenna.

@olymay Agreed - would always lock my buttons at night too. Would be part of my nightly routine.

@macdav said in Suunto app on watch not running?: @macdav I had the same problem for the second time. Only reset of the watch helped. Is there any possibility to re-instal the app on the watch? well, now I can´t connect to he SuuntoApp on the phone. It looks like I am connected, but no activities are downloaded to the phone. Any idea? ![image: 1641384979965-screenshot_20220105_130748_com.stt.android.suunto.jpg]

@binoworld-uk The S7 is built on a completely different platform than all other Suunto watches. Not reasonable to compare them.

Those Suunto Plus functions are not the super smart thing out there, even if the name suggest so. Basically Suunto seems to have come up with this concept, to add features to their S3/5/9 lineup that would have had bigger impact on the firmware otherwise. As Brad pointed out, the S7 is a totally different platform and firmware and does not need this workaround for extras. Instead of having Strava relative effort in a S+ feature, you can just install the Strava app on the S7 etc.

@kajkom If you tap on the X when the timer comes up then it will close that instance and stop it repeating every three hours (at least this is what happened for me). You can trigger the three hour reminder again by simply running the timer through to completion. As that link states, it’s part of WearOS and can’t be removed. But you can stop it nudging you every three hours.

@r-s-0 said in Battery issues: keep your phone close to the watch, maybe the s7 use less battery keeping bt conenction 99% of the time it’s <1m away @binoworld-uk said in Battery issues: @metalmi during sleep make sure that your screen is on theatre or cinema mode & Air plane mode Also, try restarting your phone and watch together. Sometimes the S7 give better battery performance when not fully charged. Unplugged at 80% and see how it behaves. If the drop is slower it might then need couple of charges between 30% and 80% Just try and report back. Thanks, I will try, but like I said, even like this it is fine for few days before it starts to drain.

@Jamie-BG Of course, no one “literally” forced me to do it, but it was the only way to solve that only Suunto-related apps were not working. I do not agree with you, for me it is not logical to perform a factory reset frequently. As a user also of devices with this option, I have not needed it. I use mainly when tweeking, test apps/settings on other devices modifyng what factory/developer give me, it’s not the case (custom-mods, roms, etc). “Hey, can’t see your friends’ Instagram stories correctly? Factory reset your phone and try again.” Apologies, for me this is not logical. Obviously it’s a easy exit to problems, but for me it’s a time insuming task re-add all the settings, parameters, create the sport modes, etc with the only reason that is use the product/device in a normal way. In fact, here in the forum you can read about experiences that have needed it almost quarterly or something like that, luckily for me it’s the first or second time I needed it. I normally use factory reset when I am going to sell or discard a device. I used for years my A3P, I never needed, also the S9B, I never needit, only with S7. And “for nothing” it’s clear: I only used the device in the normal way.

@BinoWorld-UK Since it’s under warranty get in contact with Suunto support as suggested, or your local authorized service. I had issues with a Suunto 3 after a few months and I got in contact directly with the local authorized service who checked it and have sent it to Finland for a new replacement. Wasn’t in the UK but I guess the process should be similar.

Thanks for the replies. It’s great that the battery life seems to hold up over time. I bought mine cheap as a stop gap whilst waiting for Wear OS 3 devices to appear but there’s nothing tempting me at all at the moment.

@Brad_Olwin HR was fairly normal I think, apart from a walk first thing I was pushing my desk all day! The gap at about 1400 is from me rebooting the watch to try and clear the calorie spike, and at 1800 is my nightly recharge. Something obviously happened mid-afternoon… [image: 1684390495609-screenshot_20230517-164513.png]

@kurko I would love that. I love my Suunto 7 (Except the fact that you can’t use a bluetooth HRM with the Suunto app) and a pixel watch with Suunto app on it would be a nice upgrade.

And short answer, it’s WearOS so just download a sleep tracking app, because at this point sleep tracking it’s not native.
