The phone is using also cell tower triangulation to determine your location in addition to the satellite transmissions. I live up north in Finland and even with the AGPS file up-to-date in my watch it usually takes 30 seconds to get the location fix. You are trying it out on a balcony, that might be challenging for the watch with the satellite transmissions bouncing from the walls. You see, it takes minimum three individual satellite signals to pinpoint a location. You must be patient and take a walk with your watch. That’s what it is for Sorry to say but since ambit 2 times, if my watches were synchronized with Suunto app or suuntolink they would never take 30sec to lock. Much less.

It depends on the used strap. With a 26 mm velcro strap I did not feel a difference.

@Jyrppis no idea. Once I switch off 24/7 HR monitoring the LED go off and stay off, no matter where I place the watch…

@6294946 You are on 17.2 for the phone? I would download the beta app, it is unlikely to have issues. Try two things, first disconnect the watch from the phone, forget the watch in the app and then forget the app in the watch. Uninstall the app from the phone. Download the beta app or if you prefer the store app. Repair the watch. Sometimes for me the watch is not connected in the iPhone BT settings. if that occurs to you simply touch the watch in the BT settings and it should reconnect. I have reported this issue to Suunto.

@Stoke80 I use LightBlue but I guess there are plenty of apps that can read the battery level.

@MichlWe at your convenience you can also use the S+ Climb app which reports grade, ngp, vertical speed (m/h), and total vertical ascent/descent… …oops sorry I’ve missed you already talked about it

@tmuzar I often switch between watches for testing. If I don’t sync from one of the watches I am using that day for activity tracking I will lose it. I am on iOS and have noticed that I often have to open the app to make sure a sync happens for activity. This may be due to how iOS handles apps in the background, not sure.
