@MiniForklift Yes but the pacing estimation would be more realistic

@fejker alright, I see, yeah that would be amazing. Still hoping that they are working on an integration.

… anyway, considering that the OP never replied and that the discussion derailed, I’m going to lock it. The OP can open a new thread if needed.

@ElectronBadger I have the solar and I agree with most. You probably do not need it, but if you really want titanium then… The only thing I could see it being super useful for is when I do several day (I mean like 7+ days) of backpacking. The solar would potentially take a bit of edge off of the loss of battery due to GPS usage, but having said that most of my trekking is done at least half the time under tree cover so that will make it mute. The one thing I do not like about the solar is the greenish tint that it gives the outside of the screen. Black would be much cleaner looking in my opinion. An example for me would be last year then I did the Colorado Trail from Silverton to Durango. Didn’t really see a lot of help from the solar. The only time I would get a good solar bump was going over passes. If you are a road cyclist and plan on strapping your watch to the handle bars you might see some solar usage out of that. Plus with the MIP it would not need to turn on the light every time you flicked your wrist to see where you were or how you were doing. If I were to disappear into the bush for a month, maybe.

@Egika said in Stopwatch in Vertical - interval times and results for several runners: @Ars-Vitae the backlog of good ideas is maybe not too short and I am just forwarding this - so no idea about the outcome. As not being a user of the stop watch myself I wanted to make sure that we are on the same page here. Thank you for your effort to draft this from your perspective!!! OK, it’s taken me a while, not just preparing the idea - that will be brief - but getting myself together to write a response. Family, work and other responsibilities took me elsewhere for a while, but I’m back. I think it would be worth rethinking or copying the function of a professional stopwatch such as the Seiko Stopwatch S141. I attach a photo from the OnTrack website. A pdf of the user manual is readily available in general. I am attaching the link: https://www.manua.ls/seiko/s141/manual?p=4 The manual explains exactly how such a stopwatch functions. As the Seiko has 4 buttons (Mode, Lap/Split-Reset, Recall and Start-Stop) you only need to replace e.g. the “Mode” button with another solution, e.g. by holding down the top button on the SV for a longer time (I know it is a shortcut to another function, but in an open stopwatch application it could be locked to that SV feature). Everything else is quite clearly described in the manual. If necessary I can rewrite it in a post here, but I don’t see the point if we are going to copy an already developed schema. Several features do not need to be implemented, e.g. how to delete collected data, this can be carried out in the same way as for other data stored in SV and the mobile app. However, I maintain that such a professional stopwatch should be a core feature of the SV or SR and not just an additional Suunto Plus app, especially when they are called sports watches. Suunto could shake up the competition this way and win themselves new customers. It’s actually strange that such an option has been unavailable until now. Strange for me, of course, but it was one of my first thoughts when I first checked out the watch’s capabilities. I hope that a good use can be made of it and the idea gets into the right hands. Thank you in advance for even just trying to pass this on to potential interested people. Greetings! [image: 1701650707658-screenshot-2023-12-04-at-00.58.00.png]

@jjorgemoura I also experienced similar behaviour on my brand new Vertical after ending an activity: unresponsive touchscreen and “ghost tap”. Everything returned to normal after a soft reset.

From what I have observed. The first picture is zoomed 500m while the second picture is zoomed 1km. So maybe, the 500m has given you more details regarding your location, this may indicate a trail near you or a way but not that popular. I wonder if the red line indicates a road and maybe you are in an open area?

@isazi said in Lactate Threshold estimate: @seanvk no the Vertical does not. But, and I cannot say more than this, a BIG new feature will come soon to the app (not the watch, the Suunto App) that is relevant for aerobic/anaerobic threshold and proper effort categorization. Yes please!

@Brad_Olwin said in ZoneSense S+ Drain vs Solar Charging: @stromdiddily I have used ZS with a Route on field test firmware and had excellent battery on the Vertical. No issues that I could see. I hope that this is solved but as I said, I will test again. I used the maps occasionally but had the vertical on the ZS screen most of the time. Look forward to your results. Hopefully this is part of the greater “battery issue” or whatever

@pilleus said in My Vertical Titanium Solar is a mistake: @Mountain If there’s his experience and opinion I can read it and accept it. My experience may be completely different I think there are different “levels” Acceptance: of another’s opinions (or deeds) is the basic level, the foundation of communication. I can accept people who can have very different opinions and let them be with their opinions. And sometimes that’s all one can do. Discussing: when it comes to “discussing” opinions and interpretations there can be conflict and in the end this leads at best to a higher level of insight for all involved. I think most of users here can accept the anger, if something does not work. But saying, that the Vertical does have a bad GPS is a actually a quite quick discussion topic: either the OP’s device is defective or he must doing something severely wrong.

@2b2bff Auto connection should be now fixed in latest beta. According to forum. That’s exactly what I like here! The reactions from Suunto, compared to nothing from Garmin. I have a personal affinity for the brand. I’ve been having problems with it since I got my first Garmin watch. It’s a shame, the hardware is top-notch, that’s for sure, but unfortunately the software development is lagging behind.

@Sven-Grossenbacher said in Wind added 60% extra elevation: Has anyone else experienced this? Yes, many of us. Is there a known fix or workaround? No. Most manufacturers have a built-in algorithm or threshold to disregard sudden and dramatic changes in elevation that would be impossible for the given activity. Suunto doesn’t seem to employ this. There’s a general unwillingness by some to admit that this is an issue, but there are enough examples in this forum and elsewhere demonstrating that it is, in fact, a problem. Both wind and sudden submersions in water will give false elevation readings. I posted a clear example of the latter before that related thread was locked. (Just guessing here) I’d imagine Suunto is aware of this and working on a solution. Like many of the issues we run into, it seems like it would be an easy fix that other companies have somehow figured out. But who knows. Until then, the general advice is to go back into your affected activities and edit the elevation data manually.

@aroo7 regarding the issue with tbt, I can confirm I have just the same behaviour, I contacted support about this already more than a year ago, they are simply unable/unwilling to do sth about this. I only got some idiot reply stating deleting and reinstalling suunto app, rebooting the watch, soft and hard reset , all without result. I simply switched to coros, they are simply the best. So to avoid being frustrated a simple switch does the thing. Kind regards.
