@kawdenco same for me. Regardless of sport and intensity, the parameter is always the same from november 2023 (more than half a year). Apparently something went wrong with one of the upgrades and the watch no longer calculates it, but shows the value from the last saved value or from the internal memory.

Hi @mikeorbreak did you resolve this issue? My Suunto Vertical doing exactly as yours is. Added about 600m to a run which should have and about 2400m elevation. Constantly adding meters to even short activities.

Have followed all the advise trouble-shooters to no avail. Only wear the watch on wrist with no clothes covering it.

I hade the Polar Grit X for three years and simple sleep tracking worked without HR enabled.

As far as I know, Polars Sleep plus stages is a more advanced version of sleep tracking where you need to have HR enabled, yes. But for simple sleep tracking you dont need it.

That could be one solution for Suunto as well, technically it should be possible.

why endurance? i’m nit living in gps-difficult-condituons. the single band option (endurance) already produces a near perfect track. I’m impressed to be honest.

All i want is that the settings stay the same every time i start an activity. 😀 nevertheless, i will try try your additional sport mode approach as well as the custom gps mode trick.

Custom sports mode are always in the short list, so you can always use them for multisport 😸

@gone-troppo they will, probably, but I doubt it will ever make sense and cover all cases. Those algorithms are based on observation of the physiology of people running, but trail running has too much variability to ever reach a similar stability. You could be just running flat on a trail, running uphill on good trail, running on technical trails, pulling on chains on very technical terrain, and for the watch you’ll just be exhausted and running very slow. It is not just altitude gain, that’s way easy, is the variety of terrain that will never allow such algorithms to work.

I would love this feature implemented from the watch directly. I have no idea how in term of UX after finishing the previous activity… But I am sure Suunto UX guys can find something clever!

On a another hand, Is the live track feature form Garmin could be have its equivalent in the Suunto?

@freeheeler Both but i have the Vertical connected to my android. Have sent logs so many times but they insist i have to give them Log ID (long number). I tell them there is no such thing from the app here is my app version my user id and the time the crash happend. They even sent me link on how to send logs that is literally the thing I do.
