User @divingpassion discovered that the tank pressure disappears under 30 bars. if you go below 30 bar, Suunto Nautic shows 0.0 minute gas consumption remaining. Source: https://forum.suunto.com/topic/14751/showing-bar-below-30

@Nandodiver i’m a 3-star CMAS diver. for training purposes, we dive to a maximum depth of 42 meters. they said that due to Suunto issues, their sensors were unreliable, but I really liked the Nautic S, especially its visible screen and design. thank you very much.

I am writing as a Suunto Ocean user to request the addition of a dedicated Static Apnea (STA) mode, or at the very least, the ability to save stopwatch usage to the dive log within the existing Freedive mode. Critical Issues: Competition Gap: Competitors like the Garmin Descent series have a “Pool Apnea” mode that allows for timing and logging breath-holds on the surface (STA) without requiring depth. Feature Paradox: The Ocean now includes lifestyle modes such as “Chores,” yet it lacks a mode for one of the three primary pillars of freediving (Static). Proposed Solutions: A “Static Apnea” Sport Mode: A mode that allows a manual start/stop timer on the surface that saves to the logbook as a 0-depth entry. Enhanced Stopwatch: Allow the existing stopwatch usage in Freedive mode to be “Saved” in the session log, regardless of whether a depth trigger occurred. .FIT File Export Support: Ensure that when performing a .FIT file export, the static apnea duration, heart rate data, temperature, and timestamps are included. This is essential for users who sync or analyse their training data with third-party tools and need to track breath-hold progression over time without depth-triggering. I hope to see this addressed in an upcoming firmware & app update.

@VoiGAS I spent a lot of time talking with the reps at DEMA. I spent a lot of time playing with the Nautic. I will have 2 of the Nautics to replace my 2 steels after they ship later this month. They are awesome but no news on charts. Kind of a miss if you ask me.

Hi @noppanut15, your project sounds fantastic! To help you expand depthviz’s compatibility, I recommend focusing on parsing FIT, SDE, and XML files first, since these are the most commonly exported formats from Suunto devices, including the Suunto Ocean. You might want to use open-source FIT parsers (like FitSDK or fitdecode) and analyze sample SDE/XML structures to build robust import logic. Also, reaching out in freediving and Suunto forums with a quick upload form (Google Form or GitHub issue template) might increase contributions. Keep up the great work—this tool could be a real game-changer for the freediving community!

Adding recent news to my own question: Garmin recently released their X50i dive computer. A Garmin exec confirmed that they are leaving the watch-sized dive computer market and will only focus on full size dive computers going forward. Perhaps Apple Watch Ultra is a really hard to beat in the wrist-sized computer market. I wonder if Sunnto is working on an answer to the X50i.

Hey, I know this post is kind of old, and I might be a bit nosy replying here. However, I was hesitant to disable my security options for Core Isolation since it’s there for a reason, and it was causing the error Code 39. I found a solution that worked for me and created another thread with a step-by-step tutorial. The key is to update the USB Serial Converter driver without modifying the port driver. This also prevents the issue where SuuntoLink doesn’t detect the device at all —something Raimo Järvi mentioned—because SuuntoLink (as well as DM5) only communicates with the port driver, which works well with the updated Serial Converter. I hope this solution helps anyone who comes across this old post! https://forum.suunto.com/post/163005 Have a great day!

@Alfred-Stoppels in your case you should use type B, base on your picture. However, adapters are not standard, except the thread. Thus these restrictors may not function well. In this case try this one: Restrictor for AI transmitter

@Mikael said in Suunto Solution (1992 year dive computer): Hello Community I have an working Suunto Solution and also the data interface for it, but this uses RS232 not supported by any PC today. Are there any modern interface to transfer data from it? Have anyone built one, e.g. by Arduino? Are any interface specs available/public to support a modern build? Mikael I know there are RS232-USB adapters, it could be what you’re looking for.
