@igalan said in Race S opinion: what’s good what can be improved: I also have a problem with some sport profiles, for instance the “Weights” profile does nothing for you, it doesn’t even try to count the reps. This is completely unsuitable. I did and do a lot of strength training and I completely stopped using any watch for it (besides running in the background, tracking HR). I feel that all sportswatches fail with this and Rep counting IMO is completely useless since it doesn’t work reliably on any watch. Garmin (I used some ) and others can’t reliably track reps in different scenarios like pull ups or can’t track them at all e.g. in single handed curls or leg workouts. So I will have to count anyways (which isn’t too hard anyways) AND have to correct the wrong or nonexistent rep count on the watch. A pain in the…. I would recommend a good training plan or app where you count yourself and put the info into your plan or that app. I would recommend something like alpha progression or myfitcoach on iOS which will create an adaptive plan with automatic progression (e.g. adapting reps and weight to your personal progress) with lots of graphics and analytics of how you performed over the last weeks and months, which will give one real insights. Garmin otoh only shows you what you did in your workout and a graph of the muscles you used - both of which I knew. No curves showing your progress, adaptability etc.

@claudiotereso Alright thanks! Hopefully this difficult fix will be the solution :). It’s weird that this is not stated anywhere (at least I cannot find it).

@Stephen-Kenny I’ve begun week four with a RaceS plus Polar H10 (old pod, new strap). No experience of cycling but the Run activities line up quite nicely between watch and app. I don’t carry a phone/camera with me so had to memorize the numbers today: 1 hour 8 minutes run, Watch 53-something minutes Aerobic, 4m53s Anaerobic; SA 51m40s Aerobic, 5m13s Anaerobic. And the SA graph of the ZS Anaerobic peaks corresponds with when I saw the crossover on the watch. Obviously people have different hardware when it comes to HR belts/straps but I wonder if we also differ in the DDFA algo ‘affinity’ to our personal HRV system. Perhaps some people fall way outside of the model norm?

@fritzbt2013 I have the same problem with my Race S. Its too slow to be usable for me, about 1 Second counted from lifting the arm My workaround is to activate it with the back of my hand, touching (not pushing) the crown. It has a secret touch sensor there, but I think it only works with lift to wake off. And maybe AOD on, at least thats my setting

@whiplash you can customise the fields on the watch face. After watch face it’s active go into control panel - customise then complications. You can also swap watch faces from the same menu.

@Fred-Eric I don’t know the answer to your question but turn by turn directions also work with routes created in Kamoot.

@Feenadk I experienced the same issue with Humango. But in my case, I didn’t see the workout in the Guides in the Suunto App at all. It turned out that the problem was in the programmed heart rate, pace or power ranges in the planned workout. Once I changed the ranges, I saw the workout in the Guides and it synced with the watch.

@Egika thanks, yeah that threshold might be the reason. In fact that terrain is mostly flat with a small ascent in between. But it might be below that 3m.

@Brad_Olwin I finally could download them. It just took ages. And they were just regional maps (in France).

@sky-runner I saw your post and I made a +1 to give a chance to be seen by the Suunto developer team. You exactly right about Polar. If many segment start from the same area, you can refuse them untill you find the one you want. Also, one the segment start, you can see a person icon who run on a segment line, you can compare with your previous PR icon also moving. So it’s mean, you can see in a quick way where you are between you and your PR. Very easy and clear. Polar will send me a new watch (my previous one add a problem). I’m thinking about sell my Suunto.

@Seybothula any bluetooth HR belt can be used with these watches. One thing to watch our for is whether the particular device transmits R-R interval data (like the Suunto Smart Sensor or Polar H10 do) or just HR snapshots. R-R data is required for ZoneSense to work. The only feature Suunto watches only support with Suunto Smart Sensor is the capability to use the sensor’s memory to store the HR data while the watch is out of BT range (like during swimming).

Here is my feedback concerning the touch screen (also came from Garmin): Pros: there is a lovely ‘minimal’ mode for a wake up gesture. It is just great, love it! entire dynamics in switching between wigdets and scrolling works just perfect for me. Navigation/maps in sports mode is implemented incredibly good. It works way better and more responsive than in Garmin. Cons: as pointed above - no tap-to-wake option. I really hope this will be updated soon! also compilations are not equally responsive on all watch faces - I suppose this can also be fixed in next updates.
