I found that mine didn’t record for 1 night because it was charging for a while / off my wrist for a while, and since the OHR and the sensor lights weren’t on. I turned off and turned back on and it fixed it

I don’t have this issue - in the widget menu and when you access the HR widget I see a second or 2 where it’s “measuring” and then I see a pretty accurate value. I do have 24/7 HR enabled. I’ve not tried having an HR complication visible on a watch face but I can’t imagine it would work differently. I did used to see this behaviour on my 5 Peak, though, because it took time to fire up the HR sensor and get a stable measurement. The 5 Peak only used to sample the HR every 10mins.

Could you tell me if it’s possible to connect the Suunto Race S to a Concept2 rowing machine via Bluetooth?

@Simon-0 Suuntoapp is registering activities without knowing your HR zones (it is using default ones). Maybe an hint to explain metrics differences like calories?

@tatian246 then the race s i a great device! Highly recommend it! IMO the best value for any actual sportswatch and you’ll love the route planner in the Suunto app for planing hikes

@jakexuan Thank you for your insight! It certainly is frustrating and does seem like it can be an easy fix… I do rely on the automatic interval count/timing and don’t mind the slight inaccuracy for the easy stuff, but when I am doing any type of speed work, I do need to have full control on the start and finish to have a fully accurate split times As silly as it sounds, I think my only option for when doing main sets would be to switch to a running profile and use the lap duration counter on there

@Vanillaface Check Settings/General/About on the watch and scroll down until you see Assisted GPS. This should have the current date. If not the file for finding satellites is not loaded. A second issue is that this file requires a few minutes to unpack. If it syncs to the watch immediately before an exercise it will take much longer to get a GPS lock. Your lock (solid green arrow) should take only a few seconds if you have a good view of the sky.

@kaab6271 as there is an Auto DND feature I asked specifically for manual activation. So, my guess is that enabling DND makes the watch more aware of a possible sleep cycle or napping. I don’t know if it doesn’t work without enabling DND. I only tried one night and it didn’t detect sleep. But as Suunto doesn’t respect focus modes on iOS it sends all the notifications over to the watch even with “sleep” focus mode. Therefore disabling DND has not proven to be useful to me…

@JousseG said in Race S with decathlon HR belt: But with the race S, on the activity selection screen, the belt icon is not stable. It varies between grey, green and green with the HR. Same here, with Decathlon HRM belt and Suunto Race This belt has worked flawlessly with Garmin Fenix and Wahoo Bolt v2 for the last year.

I’m my experience it only works on routes imported by Kamoot or made in the app. So not sure why Kamoot imports are not working. In my user case the first thing I do is turn off TbyT and simply follow the blue line. I hate the watch constant notifications and as others have said the warnings aren’t ideal. I haven’t used TbyT since the last change.

Last week I set an alarm for midnight (0:00) It never went off. Luckily I was awake at 23:50 and I usually don’t have to wake up at that time. (An other problem is lack of configuration options. My workdays are from monday to Thursday. That cannot be set on a Suunto. Also an alarm on every Saturday, to not miss parkrun, cannot be done. But that is by ‘design’ and not by buggy software)

@elbee said in Vibration off (only) for mobile notifications: I recently switched from garmin back to suunto and in general I’m happy with it. There is 1 area that needs attention from developers and that is in configuration options. Not only for beeps and vibration, but also for alarms and specify datafields on lapscreen or mapscreen. To name a few. And why can’t I exit an buildin activity? In stead of useful firmware changes suunto added trackmode. I train on a track every week and I think it doesn’t add any value. And I never heard anybody in my athletics club complain track training is difficult due to lack of support on their watch. We need more flexibility and configurations. Agree on the need for more flexibility in settings. It would make a big difference if we could customize things like vibrations, alerts, and screen layouts separately. The current all-or-nothing approach limits how people can adapt the watch to their daily use or training style. I also found it odd that some built-in activities can’t be exited or tweaked easily. Hopefully, Suunto considers more user-configurable options in future updates.

@sang-shin-Lee Yes. Now more often then before I encounter black map situation. Also, more often changing route to another during activity fails.
