@isazi I understand and I am by no means undermining the work done underneath it. I was only trying to figure out what might be coming up beyond what is visible on the iOS app. Thanks!

@isazi btw I get that S9/s9p won’t get new interface, but will they ar least get new sport mode icons? So that it’s consistent with the app.

@DMytro If I recall well I read a post from @Dimitrios-Kanellopoulos were he said that Suunto is working to bring all the new things that are possible to the older watches (S9/S9P). I guess icons and font can be ported.

I hope that can do it, as they did with the ascent/descent algo for the S9B.

@cosme-costa don’t care for the font, screen is big enough on S9 for me not to care about it. But having different icons frustrates me a little.

Would be awesome if anybody could already name the new sport profiles that were added. Thanks

@Patrick-Löffler if I’m not wrong, Ray mentioned the sport mode that was added to all watches. The S9PP will also get mermaiding and snorkeling.

@DMytro Thanks & Yes. S9PP. It’s now 95 supported sports. Before I think there were 80? Will surfing be there? Somwhere in this thread someone mentioned surfing. But I cannot find it anymore. 😉

Surfing is on 9B so should be on 9PP too.

surfing has been in Suuntos already before. Wind, kite and wave surfing. I don’t expect that popular sports will be removed

@Patrick-Löffler it wasn’t Ray, it was the 5krunner that listed the new sport mode that is coming to the other watches too.

@Patrick-Löffler it was 80+, I wonder which others sports were added. Yet I don’t do a lot of different sports, so s9 offering satisfies me quite a bit.

@Egika how accurate is this anyways? I’m really curios how much data one can pull from an accelerometer.

@DMytro detecting paddling versus riding shouldn’t be that difficult, the arm movement is very different.

                                            and maybe speed.
with paddling against the waves I almost never get beyond 3.5km/h, drifting with the current while waiting is even slower, but once you catch a wave it relatively quickly accelerates you to however fast they are coming in…
