Will surfing be there? Somwhere in this thread someone mentioned surfing.

Surfing is on 9B so should be on 9PP too.

surfing has been in Suuntos already before. Wind, kite and wave surfing. I don’t expect that popular sports will be removed

@Patrick-Löffler Surfing has been there for a long time and still is.
Plus: There is a new Surfer S+ feature under test, that gathers additional data, like last wave stats (duration, length, max speed) plus stats like # of waves surfed, distance surfed and paddled, longest wave etc…)

@Patrick-Löffler it wasn’t Ray, it was the 5krunner that listed the new sport mode that is coming to the other watches too.

@Patrick-Löffler it was 80+, I wonder which others sports were added. Yet I don’t do a lot of different sports, so s9 offering satisfies me quite a bit.

@Egika how accurate is this anyways? I’m really curios how much data one can pull from an accelerometer.

@DMytro detecting paddling versus riding shouldn’t be that difficult, the arm movement is very different.

                          and maybe speed.
with paddling against the waves I almost never get beyond 3.5km/h, drifting with the current while waiting is even slower, but once you catch a wave it relatively quickly accelerates you to however fast they are coming in…

Let’s see if S9PP starts shipping before the release date as it happened with S9P 🤞

                            Maybe not this time 🙁

Does Suunto S9 Peak Pro have the same straps as S9 Peak, can be exchanged between watches?

@dulko79 I have used a nylon strap for about 3 years, same one, and still excellent.

It gets ‘stiff’ with sweat and needs a good wash every now and again, but I like it. I do not use the HR, so no idea if it good for the connection.

I don’t run. used for cycling. It is soaked in sweat several times a week.

@freeheeler I’m still waiting until I know for certain that this watch doesn’t suffer from those weird speed wobbles/spikes on windsurfing activities. But since it still has a Sony GNSS chip, there is a chance I will end up with the same results.
