This is a summary of the instructions that I’ve pulled from this thread, to help the next person like me:

          On watch:
Long press the middle button to enter Setting.
          Select General.
          Select About.
Scroll down all the way to the bottom, until you see Data Privacy at the end.
Long press the lower button to enter the interface.
Slide down and select “select OTA pkg”.
You can see the current version and the previous version here.
Select the previous version to update.

          In app:
          Go to Home screen.
Click on watch symbol in the upper right corner.
Click 3 dots in the upper right corner.
          Click About Device
Click toggle next to “Enable automatic updates” to disable auto updates.

          Fingers crossed this works.

Same here, the heart rate sensor stop working every night and works back for the day after a soft restart.

I have to say I am disapointed, this issue is not new and came back twice this year. I am not sure I would go again with suunto for my next watch, this is not the only bug but the most annoying.

@Philippe-Maquin I have same problem, with latest firmware and I’m getting sick and tired about these buggy releases. 👎

Went for a run this morning and 2 minutes in i realized the HR was not measuring on my Race. Did as many on this thread suggested and turning off and on the watch worked. Have no clue as to why but seems like the latest firmware is glitching.

Similar problem for me. HRM only works occasionally, soft reset brings it back to life. The monitor stopped working during an activity today. I believe the issue started after the most recent software update.

                      Hi together,
I think with the latest update to 3.39.20 the bug is back.
Yesterday, soft reset helped to reactivate Heart Rate sensor, after today’s “4-hours sleep” (it stopped working again in the middle of the night) I have to do another one…
Somebody seeing the same device behavior?
                      Kind regards:)

yes i have this exactly same bug as well! it is not so good, i have sent the logs to suunto

How does it work, if there‘s no former update available on this Suunto, because earlier updates have been deleted by pressing the wrong button (Delete OTA pkgs)? How can I upload an earlier version?

Hi @Brad_Olwin, when can we expect this bug to be fixed? It’s already been two weeks and this bug is very annoying, rendering most of the S9PP’s features completely useless. Thanks in advance for your response, Stephan.

@sphlpp Hopefully soon, testing required that the bug is fixed and no new bugs are introduced as well as all functions working.
So far looks good but testers do not specify release dates. I understand your frustration but a lot of folks have been working hard through the holidays to solve this.

Thank you for the update - I experienced this HR sensor issue as well, and am very glad to have found the reason for this on this forum. I reverted to the previous firmware version now and it seems to work. I do hope you can fix this soon as HR tracking is one of the most basic features a sportswatch should have IMO!

                                Hi, Happy New Year
Just to add my 2 cents, since my 9 Peak Pro (v2.39.20) also appears the same behaviour. Need to reset every 2-3 days for having sensors working.
I realised that this started to happen first days of December (if that is of any help)

@Brad_Olwin is it possible to rollback?
With my watch it even stop during activities, after every soft reset the heart rate sensor only works for two small hours.
This makes the watch almost unusable. This this a shame for Suunto to deploy such poor updates, and not being able to fix it/roll back the mess in a reasonable time.

This is not suppose to be a cheap product from China with no support. I am considering sending the watch back and give negative recommandations everywhere.

@jacassata - thanks your instructions really helped as it wasn’t obvious how to do this. Really hope this issue is fixed ASAP as otherwise I’ll be looking for a new watch (not from Suunto, needless to say). I’d rather they fixed it though as the watch has been perfect until now. Shouldn’t have rushed that update through before Christmas…

Instructions repeated below as it seems grim recent posts that they’ve already been lost in the thread.

THX for the instructions how to roll back the SW version - worked for me. But please make sure that in the next SW version this bug is fixed.

Do you know if there is any news regarding an update for all the watches “affected” in the last update

For what it’s worth- same here - watch auto updated to 2.39.20 in Dec & since then, all sensors stop (heart rate, oxygen, sleep) frequently- definitely overnight but possibly more frequently than that… all ok after a restart but come on Suunto, you’re better than this!!
Have been using Suunto products for years & trusted my life in them diving which is why I went with Suunto for fitness watch but starting to regret it again - this looks like a bug reintroduced, really Suunto? This is software change management 101?!
