@Egika when the beta Software Update will come? When it will roll out?

not sure if already reported, known (bluetooth issue) or it is by design. on my first race with Vertical when I was in starting corridor, watch was unable to connect to heart rate belt, even few seconds before it was connected without any issue (pre-warm up session). It took infinite, I tried several times, to go back and start exercise, disabled wrist HR… 10 seconds to start it luckily found. Probably caused by lot of bluetooth sensors around me. I was not able to send logs that time.

@dombo I also had to repair my H10 once, watch just could not find it. Also mobile application, it just didn’t sync my activity (2h after normal sync of previous activity), I checked app and it was searching for watch. I had to disconnect/forget and repair.

@surfboomerang yes many : The watch is awesome, classy, efficient, terrific battery, and I love it little bit less than my Teammachine SLR but love it 🫣.
Apps can be fine tuned but will be over time, for sure.

Question can Suunto make a bike computer form factor 😇, I guess i would drop my wahoo in case.

Suunto already has a partnership with the Hammerhead company. Class leading product is the Karoo II.
It syncs Suunto heatmaps and also routes planned in the Suunto app.
Plus of course syncs recorded activities into the Suunto App.

                  Highly recommended!

@Egika @ericjean I second the Hammerhead Karoo II comment. I have it and works really well as a companion to Suunto Vertical. I use it for all my road/gravel bike rides. Way easier to see the larger screen/maps/info at a glance while riding in traffic or bumping on gravel roads, and when Im home the workout seemlessly shows up in SA. I also turn my Suunto on for rides too just to get the daily on watch fitness summary calculated - would be nice if Hammerhead could upload to the wrist device so I didn’t have to but that is likely a long way away.

Oh, I also wish Suunto HR belt could pair to 2 devices simultaneously vs only 1.

After finishing an (inbuilt) exercise Vertical got stuck at “Saving…” Had to soft reset. The data was stored in the watch. Sent logs at 11:08 CET (14.06.2023).

Another trail running outing today and another bug experiment… NO MAP. Sorry to moan, but these are the facts…
                        To sum up, I experienced

                        • a crash in the middle of activity when using the map
                        • lag when scrolling widgets
                        • excessive battery consumption when using S+
                        • sports profiles not appearing
                        • maps not displayed
                        • S+ with a black screen
                        • the need (about once a week) to do a soft reset because the watch no longer connects to SA
To this I would add the NGP and the unreliable power on the wrist when climbing.
I’m impatiently waiting for all these bugs to be resolved because the user experience is deplorable and it’s damaging SUUNTO’s image, particularly with all my club friends.

@babychai it could be that Malaysia does not have the contour lines available, I’ll ask and report back.

hi @isazi, may i know got any update regarding the contour line in Malaysia map? Is it a bug for Malaysia map? wait for next week Hotfix? 🤔

@Frederick-Rochette Maps are fine, this is caused by routes. Restart watch each time you load new routes into the watch, then you need to calibrate compass again. After that, this problem disappears. Hope devs can fix this soon.

@renton82 I confirm that you must choose generic distance for open water swimming, because swim distance is based on a pool length, I had exactly the same problem.
Then, I had a look to my recent open water activities, and I can see distance in meters both on the swatch and on the Sunnto App.
I didn’t find any parameter to manage this… I’ll come back to you If I find something

@Frederick-Rochette No soft reset necessary when the Watch doesn’t connect to SA, I found this easier workaround:

                                • turn on the airplane mode on watch
                                • turn it off

It then connects to SA right away. A bit annoying bug, but this workaround works for me.

Not sure if this is a bug… When I have the new solar watch face selected, the watch doesn’t turn off the screen while charging. Instead it looks like this:

                                    Bildschirmfoto 2023-06-16 um 21.28.18.png

If I select one of the other (older) watch faces, the display gets completely turned off while charging.

it happens also to older watches with different screens. I saw this several times and seems to be a minor bug, nothing to worry about IMO

@freeheeler Right, it’s minor. I think I never saw this before, because the S9PP charges so fast.

I saw it first on S9PP. I think it happens more often than we think, but we don’t watch the watch charging, right? 😉
it was coincidence in my case

The good, the bad and the ugly 🙂

                                            The good:

I’ve received my Vertical yesterday, configured it and did my first multisport activity today. First off, the battery life is crazy!!! Started this morning with 96%, did a 1 h 40 min hours activity with performance GPS - which was also perfect - and now, the watch shows 97%. It’s a very sunny day 😉 Using the map is quite useful.

                                            The bad (no bugs):

                                            1. With former Suunto watches (e.g. S9P), when leaving the track during navigation, the map would zoom out and show me where the track was. That’s no longer the case. I need to manually zoom out. If the track is further away than 500 m, I need to move the map around and search for the track, because there is no indication where the nearest direction is back on track. Not a bug, but not so nice.

                                            2. When panning the map, it snaps back to the current location quite fast. And just after each panning, the map shifts around a little bit. Both makes planning an off-track route a bit difficult. In an emergency situation (blizzard, cold, etc), this could be quite bad.

                                            3. The onboard HR and particularly the spO2 sensors are still just toys. A waste of space, weight and battery. The acquired data is sometimes quite good, in the case of HR even accurate, but they are just as often absolutely incorrect. Hence, unreliable toys. Yeah, many people want to have that still. I don’t :'-D

                                            The ugly (bugs):

                                            1. Using the display “Intensity zones”, one can configure 2 fields. Only 1 is actually shown on S9P/P and on the Vertical. To my knowledge, the second field is only used on S9. Okay, so I filled the field marked as #1 and set the second field to “Empty”. This didn’t work. During the activity, the display did show the current heart rate, but all other data was garbled up. Now I set both fields to the same value and it seems to work now.

                                            2. When I wanted to start the second activity via the multisport option (long press upper button during activity), there there were no names given for the options to choose from - only blank fields. My configuration: I deleted all default sport modes and created 4 custom sport modes. I can select each of them to start an activity, but their names didn’t appear as multisport choices. A rather ugly bug!

I noticed a lot of other minor bugs, which are not critical. I’m a software engineer myself and - oh boy - I wouldn’t dare to publish a software that has so many issues. IMHO, Suunto did a quite sloppy job here. But okay, lots of different users with lots of different configurations … and everything should be there and working from the first day on. It’s a tough task. On the other hand, e.g. the above mentioned “Intensity zones” display issue with 2 fields when only 1 is available on the watch, has been known for years. That’s embarrassing 😞

Not sure if I keep the watch. It seems to be very unreliable all in all.
