Software update 2.39.20 (2024 Q4)
-
Since the last update 2.39.20, my watch sometimes disconnects from SA and won’t reconnect. Restarting the phone doesn’t help. A soft reset of the watch helps. It has happened to me with both Vertical and Ocean. My wife had the same problem with the 9PP. Has anyone experienced this?
I lost an important call today because of it. -

What do you mean?

Other companies have learnt it the hard way too — never make a release right before major holidays. Everyone has already forgot and disabled those Christmas watch faces, but the bitter taste of the broken OHR and control panel is there to remain for a long time.
-
@sartoric Nothing major. Just that I didn’t have my phone near me (I have the ringer off) and the watch didn’t alert me to an incoming call. That’s all

Race S (at least mine) are also impactedMy Race S has been spared so far except for problems with the Wi-Fi, but indeed my watch has now also at least stopped measuring sleep and HRV. I’m now going back to the last known good release.

Strict, but fair.

As of a few days ago my Notifications stopped working, I’m no longer getting them on my SV when something comes trough on my phone. I’m tempted to backdate to an earlier version, main reason being I’m having problems with charging my SV. When I plug it in it either:
- Does nothing
- Shows the battery percentage as if it’s charging, but then nothing happens and it doesn’t charge
- Beeps like crazy and goes absolutely mental
I can usually get it to charge as normal after a few ‘Power Off’ and a handful of soft resets. I’ve never seen this charging issue mentioned here which seems odd, anyhow I’m realy hoping that this will be rectified sooner rather than later. FWIW I usually charge at the start of the month and then again mid month

@MiniForklift have the same, but Not exactly since the last Update … It comes from time to time Here…
-
@MiniForklift I have the same too with my S9PP since a few firmwares updates ago, it’s random, my guess would be it’s a combination of dirt on the sensors and the firmware being very sensitive. and possible the electrial plug. hard to pinpoint.

This is strange, but it’s either this firmware version or latest Android (15) broke media controls as well as quick responses via watch.
The thing is - I can see what media is being played, but only the controls are grayed out.
I can send quick responses without any errors displayed in the watch, but the phone doesn’t send them?
Any ideas?

@Łukasz-Szmigiel I can confirm this bug. Soft reset fixed it for me, at least temporarily. Didn’t have time to reproduce it because I downgraded. Media controls, control panel scaling and wifi connection problems were a bit too much.
-
@BrunoH thanks, good to know it’s not an isolated issue.

I have had issues with notifications since Android 15 update, when I got the watch one year ago all notifications were flawless, now I’m missing Whatsapp, signal, sometimes text messages.
Using a pixel 8 with Android 15 on it, and I have downgraded to 2.37.48 on my watch. I never noticed and notifications improvements on the latest firmware, I was too busy to soft reseting the watch several times a day to get the ohr to function.
